Princess Princess

Post by Sailormars Obsessed fan » Mon Jul 30, 2007 9:03 am

I havent seen this yet but it sounds like one I'd like to check out being a crossdresser and all.

Its about the lives of three boys chosen to dress up as girls at the all-boy school they attend.

Its not hentai either and from what I gather the "princess" are treated respectfully which is good.

Im wondering if anyone has seen it and if so is it worth checking out?

**Disclaimer: I haven't actually seen this anime.**

If you're looking for a realistic portrayal of people who crossdress, this show probably isn't going to be it. It's another nonsense-premise show with no plot, basically just an excuse to service the yaoi fangirls with blushing bishounen.

There aren't really many anime I can think of that honestly deal with crossdressing. One that grazes the topic is Revolutionary Girl Utena. Of course it's not a real examination of cross-dressing, but the main character is a (kind of) cross-dressing female and this is used as a plot device in a few episodes.

Ouran High School Host Club features a male crossdresser but it's a caricature and probably a bit offensive.

I have yet to actually see an anime that realistically portrays crossdressing, but shows like strawberry eggs and Utena and others dont bother me too much. They can be fun.

I havent seen Ouran High School Host club either.

Anyway I'll keep researching princess princess for now and see what I can come up with.

It wasnt really the main focus of the show but if youve ever watched the series El Hazzard the wanderers the lead guy has to dress as a princess because for some reason hes the spitting image of the princess of the parallel realm him and his friends get sent to. Theres also alot of funny Lesbian tones where the princess girlfriend chases him around thinking hes the princess. Ive got to re buy the series but it was cute and thought it may not fit what your looking for material wise it does feature the topic.
"Have you been half asleep? And have youve heard voices?
I hear them calling my name."
Is this the sweet sound, that calls the young sailors?
The voice maybe one in the same.
Ive heard it too many times to ignore it,
its something that I sposed to be..
Someday we''''ll find it, the rainbow connection
The lover, the dreamer, and me..."

I realize that you have never seen the show, but there is little to no yaoi in it.
One of the Hime's, Mikoto, even has a girlfriend, and spends most of his time trying to keep the fact that he is a Hime, a secert from her.
And, when dressed as a Hime, they don't even qualify as a Bishie.

Honestly the Hime's job is to cheer at school events dressed as girls. And for doing this they get special treatment (sorta). They get paid for doing photoshoots, tardiness from Princess duties isn't written up, and all of their schooll suppiled, uniforms, ect. are suppiled by the school. Plus they dress up in Gothic Lolilita outfits!! *_*

I really like this show, the animation is what got me so hooked. ^^

I do agree with you on the lack of plot, though. Its basicly about, Toru, a new student to the schoolm becoming a Hime, and discovering its not as bad as it seems.

I realize it's not a *yaoi* show, those are pretty rare. But it's definitely aimed at the girls-who-love-boys-who-love-boys niche.
