Sorry if this sounds rude, but have you ever watched a ADV dub? They add ALOT of swearing. And Steel Angel Kurumi itself had tons of cursing. They even said 'Pus-y' in the first episode.

EDIT:

Sorry about the double post.

Yes, I have, and i've never heard words like that. Especially "dyke" and "fucking". Ah, well, if you say they're in there, then whatever. I'm not going to get into a huge thing abuot it.

Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I could definitely see the f-word being used. It popped up at least two or three times that I can recall in the Excel Saga dub.
"Tell my tale to those who ask... tell it truthfully, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence..." last words of Dinobot, "Code of Hero"
"Is that a poisonous elephant in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" ~another forum
"Monster! I''''m going to collide with you indefinitely as my limbs flail wildly about!" ~NPC, Dragon Warrior VII
"I bet you were thinking how hot it would be to see Tsunade with her gates wide open, inviting you..." ~DuneMan
"To use gaming terms, Tyrannosaurus Rex was a camper--- and he pwned his prey!" ~BaronVonAwesome
"I prefer to beat my opponents the old-fashioned way: brutally!" ~Dinobot

*shrug* I guess I just wouldn't know becuase I don't want a whole lot of dubs; rather, I don't really watch them at all anymore unless i have to, which isn't often.

Steel Angel Kurumi is a dub directed and written by Steven Foster, who's known for massive script changes from the original and added profanity (even more than with other ADV dubs). I've heard Saiyuki (another dub that was written by him), and it definitely sticks out. ;)

One of my favorite lines is from "The Transformers: The Movie" "One shall stand, one shall fall." Another is the one I'm using for my tagline. "Oh yeah. Someone is definitely tired of breating." Another good one is "You can go back and play with your toy rocket. Me? I'm gonna stick around and feed this geek all 31 different flavors of pain!" (Superman ep "The Main Man", Part Two.)
"Oh yeah. Someone is definitely tired of breathing." ("The Main Man", Part 1)

I'm writing this Sailor Moon/Green Lantern crossover AU fic called "Emerald Sunrise". It's a hybrid of Action/Adventure, Sci-Fi, Romance, and Comedy. It's about Ami (Sailor Mercury) getting a new boyfriend who just happens to be a member of The Green Lantern Corps. I'm also throwing in some other characters from other animes and some old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late '60's early '70's. I'm also illustrating it as well. Wish me luck. I'm gonna need it.

"Dead Man Walking!!!!!!!"

I don't believe Superman is an anime, is it?

May I also contribute Team Rocket's 'to protect the world from devestation' routine from Pokemon?

Not to mention the OTHER famous Team Rocket dub line: "Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off AGAAAAAAAINNN!!!!....*ping*"

While we're on the topic of Pokemon, here's one from the Advanced Generation:

May: Torchic, amber!

(A mushroom zooms across the screen)

Max: Don't you mean Ember?

May: Sorry. Torchic, Ember!

And who could ever forget the immortal "Look, I can see their parachutes! They're okay!" line that Tien said in DBZ?
"After all these years, you know it's not about control. It's about trying to do everything I can. And for you, it's about setting an example. Everyone looks up to you. They listen to you. If you tell them to fight, they'll fight. But they need to be inspired, and let's face it, 'Superman'...the last time you really inspired anyone... was when you were dead." -- Batman, to Superman, Infinite Crisis, issue 1

oh god, the DBZ dub...

"I'll help you go... to another dimension!"

dear god... can't they just say DEATH IN THIS???
-Adam Picard-
Blake? oh, like a coffee break!!

James: For some reason I'm seeing you in a nurse's uniform...
Steve: Thank you Jeff, that will be all. ... He's not here, is he? Oh God I've internalized him...
-Coupling; The Freckle, the Key, and the Couple who weren't

'Who will tell us about this? Oh, no it is didnt know New Orleans was underwater guy.'
-Jon Stewart, The Daily Show

"Plus, Act now and you'll get the Mood of Dick Cheney! Including Rage, *RANH* Irritability, *RANH* and Mind-Blowing Orgasmic pleasure! *RAAAAANH* Order now!"

 Oh man, that's almost as bad as the Yu-go-oh dub's "Shadow Realm" crap. They use it even when it defies all logic.

"These 'psychic saw blades' will go through you... and send you to the shadow realm if you lose!"
"If you lose the floor below you open up and you will fall... to the shadow realm!"

Honestly though, almost all of the talk right before (and many times during) a duel is total nonsense. I don't know if this is the case in the original Japanese version, but about two-thirds of the talk in the dub is just the characters repeating themselves.

"I shall fight you!"
"And fight you I shall!"
"We shall fight in my stadium."
"Is that your stadium?"
"Yes that is my stadium."

...And on and on for 10 more goddamn minutes before they make their first freakin' move. Rinse and repeat for 3 more episodes and you basically have the entire dialogue for the duel.
If you just see the leaf, you'll miss the tree;
If you just see the tree, you'll miss the forest;
To see everything, effortlessly, that is what it means to truly see.

Another humorous line from dub Ferio: "You've got to believe.....IN YOURSELF!!" It's somewhere in episode four. Man, did I get strong PaRappa the Rappa vibes from that.

:D Ahhh... memories. I used to love DBZ. I would make bets with my friends on how long a fight between two guys can take. 4, 10, 20 episodes? Thats why I preferred the movies, at least the attacks land within the same minute.

I don't know if this counts, but the dubbed attack names for Digimon really cracked me up. They seemed to slap together an attack with some random attribute to the characters.

"Harpoon Torpedo of Reliability!"
"Drill of Knowledge!"
"Vine Whip of Sincerity!"

I imagine those would rank as some of the lamest attack names ever...

I thought of two for Ranma 1/2. In the episode about the little girl who battles using toys, the guys at the beginning are trying to get kids interested in playing again. On the original, the kids say they have to leave for cram school. In the dub, the kids say that they're going to watch Pokemon. I thought it was interesting (and appropriate) that the show they mentioned on the dub was a JAPANESE show...even if it was a slight Americanization, at least they didn't say something like "The Simpsons."

The other is small. In the dub, at one point (the first Ling-Ling and Lung-Lung episode) Shampoo calls Ranma a "sexy pig" instead of "sexist pig." I don't think she says something like that in the original...but I thought it was funny that she accidentally sort of COMPLIMENTED Ranma!

Here's some suggestive dialog from Robotech courtesy of Harmony Gold USA:

Rick: Look, it's Minmay and her cousin Lynn Kyle going into a hotel TOGETHER.

Lisa: Well, he is her cousin and she probably cares deeply for him. It's natural for cousins to show affection for each other and be close.

Rick: Yeah, but it almost seems like they're TOO close.

And this is supposed to be an edited dub...
"If we can''t comprehend the plan at hand, how could a higher plan make any more sense? I'd say you can only be a martyr if you know what you are dying for, and choose it"-Elphaba

"Those who made mistakes blame themselves and close their hearts. It's impossible to fix a mistake. Man can't return to the past. That's why we drink. Drunks, lushes, sliding alcohol down their throats to dilute the memories that can't be denied.-Vash The Stampede"
