One Piece

Post by S and E » Fri Jul 14, 2006 8:42 pm

It's one of my favorite anime/manga. I was pretty surprised that this forum didn't have a topic on it already.<_<;; Which makes me wonder what kind of feedback I'll get...

ANYWAY, (assuming you follow the manga) How do you think the Enies Lobby arc is gonna end? Personally I hope
That some of the Strawhats get camptured and sent to Impel Down (I think thta's the name) and get reunited with Crocodile, and Mr. 1, 2, and 3 and get busted out by Miss Goldenweek and co. <_<;; I love Baroque Works.
I love One Piece! I just started getting into it and am only at episode 33, which is where the Arlong arc starts. I was surprised at how good it was because at first the art work kind of turned me off. But then it grew on me and has an excellent story.

I'll post more when I see more episodes.

Yeah. I was rather turned off by the artwork at first, too.

Personally, though, the story doesn't really grab my interest until teh Grand Line. Then you get sucked into this really long arc, with two new (awesome :P) crewmates by the end of it.

One Piece is a great series. I haven't really been following it, but I liked what I saw. Not to mention, I LOVE Luffy! ^_^

I saw an episode of the 4kids version and I can't believe what they did to it!

Luffy sounds like a ten year old bratty boy
Usopp sounds like a retarded clown
Sanji... Gaah! What did they do to my Sanji! Worst voice ever! And he now has a lollipop instead of a cigarette.

And guns became super soakers? WTF!

4kids needs to go to hell! The One Piece dub makes the DiC dub of Sailor Moon look like a masterpiece.

Thank god for youtube so I can watch all the episodes subbed and the Shounen Jump manga.

Erm. It's okay. I haven't really gotten into and since I'm going through this anime-hating phase I don't know if I ever will. I do respect it though.

I've read a few chapters from Shounen Jump a few years back. I believe they on a floating restraunt and Luffy was try to find a chef? Something like that...

Whoa, relax ^^ I agree that the company needs to loosen up their editing standards a smidge, but there's no reason to insult the people who work there. It's just a cartoon, after all.

Yeah I know, but now we probably won't get a decent dub. Oh well, at least I can download subs.

From the Toon Zone Forum:
Jerry Renault to rnowicki

Dec 4 (18 hours ago) Dear Ms. Nowicki

I was wondering when/if new episodes of One Piece will be premiering soon on Cartoon Network, or any other outlet.

Thank you!

I'm not a fan of pirates period, but One Piece is the one that has actually caught my interest. Unfortunately, I've only seen a few episodes of the horrible dub(which I can barely sit through *shudders*), but I've read episode summaries and read many GOOD fanfics enough to keep my interest in it.

After I find some fansubs I'll eventually have a fun opinion of One Piece.

I forgot to say this yesterday, but Eiichiro Oda's birthday was on January 1! Happy late birthday, Oda-sensei! ^_^

Newest News:

Funimation acquires One Piece rights
Plans to air eps. starting at 144 (where 4Kids left off).
Uncut & uncensored DVDs planned. There will be a sub version, but it is unclear if dub & sub will be on separate discs (like Naruto), or if the DVDs will be bilingual.

Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.
