Description

The diclonius (two-horned human) was a mutant created by humans. It had a special ability that could be described as a sixth sense.

The mutants had enough power to exterminate the whole human race. Humans being afraid of their powers, they were isolated into research labs to be studied.

One of the diclonius girls named Lucy broke out of confinement, killed the guards and escaped from the laboratory. She feel into the ocean after being shot and ended up on a beach. There she met Kota and Yuka, they named her Nyu and began to live with her.

* Episode 14 will be released as a DVD only version on April 21st.

Well, i like so much elfen lied, the design of the characters looks like Shôjo, but, elfen lied isn't shôjo.

The history is so Original, because mix the charisma and the characters with blood and violence...

I recommend it so much.

I love the ending song!

I was really surprised when Elfen Lied became my favorite anime, especially because I usually can't stand such violent/bloody/gorey animes, and I hate what happened to that little girl.

At the last episode, I was tears, which never happened while I was watching an anime before. What I really liked was how the show explored what it truley means to be "human", and I want to read the manga badly.

Glad I continued to watch the series, though, I just wish I didn't feel like throwing up everytime I do.

Wow I just finished watching Elfen Lied for the first time....all I can say is WOW! That was such an amazing series, and I even cried at the end. Definetly one of my fave anime's now

Despite all the praise this show is getting, I don't think I'd be able to get into it due to the sheer amount of violence and gore in it. I mean, it's one thing to kill innocents as a villain and then have repricussions for it later, but [spoiler]when the one doing the amputations and decapitations is supposed to be one of the protagonists, it becomes difficult, and so[/spoiler] the way this show presents its story really makes it hard for me to endear toward any of the characters at all :/

My favorite scene in this whole series is when

[spoiler]Lucy was really young and there were those school bullies and they started torturing the dog, when Lucy just went "You know who isnt human!? PEOPLE LIKE YOU!" then just tore them apart.[/spoiler]

One of my guy friends recommended this series to me and now I want to see it very badly.

As a fan of both horror and generally-fucked-up-shit, I think I'd enjoy it.

But I definitely want to watch before I buy. *is thinking out loud now* Anyone who has some eps want to PM me and work something out? ^^;

Okay, thanks to a forum member I've now seen the first ep... and wow. This is incredibly interesting.

Though the ending theme made me go "o___O;;; ...the hell?" It just seems so HAPPY YAY =D and random with everything else, lol.

hmm, i watched this and there were only 13 episodes...

this is a really great show i watched it in english and loved it, its sad too, the ending is great cuz [spoiler]the doorbell rings and you just dont know who it is! i love it[/spoiler]

That part pissed me off so bad. That's why I usually stay away from 13 episode anime; they're great until the end, then leave you wanting more or sitting in confusion.

I just found the 3rd volume of Elfen Lied in the most unusual of stores....London Drugs. Now I don't know about you but to me it seems odd that they'd have a copy of this series at London Drugs, seems more like it should be something you find in some back corner of an anime store
