Obscure Anime

Post by Sailormars Obsessed fan » Fri Jun 16, 2006 2:05 pm

I was at an anime con a few years ago and the people running the convention were allowed to take over the hotel tvs so it would pretty much show anime the whole time on one of the channels.

It showed stuff I had never seen or heard of before or since. One of them looking a bit interesting.

It was called "Brother Dear Brother" I think. It was about a girls private school and it seemed to be a serious drama. anyway Ive never been able to find much about this show aside from obscure references.

anyway does anyone know anything about this show and if its possible to get it?

Um, here is a site with info on it:

Hmmm I tried finding sites where you could possibly buy DVDs of the show. I tried Ebay, CDJapan, Bestbuy.com, and Amazon.com. I had no results. Sorry. I think this is going to be an anime that is going to be hard to get a hold of.

thanks for the assist there.

In my research so far I have found no evidence it was actually released in america. as to how that con managed to get it on the tv like that is a mystery to me.

You mean they didn't watch the show off a tape or a DVD? Wow, if they didn't, that really is weird. 0_o Wait, maybe the hotel had satellites that connect to Japanese channels?

You can broadcast taped programming over a closed circuit channel. They probably used the hotel's own closed circuit channel to show anime videos for the guests during the convention.

Animesuki.com has a couple of episodes fansubbed available for download via Bittorrent but they only have a few random episodes. Since Animesuki.com only has downloads of unlicensed anime, this means Brother Dear Brother isn't licensed for the U.S.

thanks for the heads up on that.

Unfortunatly I get the impression this show is one you have to watch in order to truely get it. so snippets really isnt going to help in the long run.

But maybe someone else has it.
