Though since I've heard the people who dubbed Bebop dubbed this too, it's not that surprising...

I absolutely despise Akito's dub voice. Continuously he jumps from octave to octave, and when one listens well, you can hear his voice cracking over and over.Kez-chan wrote:Nadesico has the best dub I've ever heard. FACT.
I love the sub & dub versions and I'll happily watch either. But, I saw the dub first, so I might actually prefer it. The acting and casting was spot on.
The only tiny thing is that Akito has the exact same voice as Shinji Ikari does in the English Eva dub (which was also pretty good, I thought). Not just the same actor, the exact same voice. I keep expecting the two of them to merge into one in some kind of freaky crossover. Heh.
That avatar is a self portrait. Really. Really. No matter how much it looks like D'Angelo, that's me. .... Oh, just shut up.

My favorite dubs are:
-Nadesico (probably since I saw the dub first before watching it subbed, but I like most of the voice actors in the series anyway)
-Excel Saga (the quality drops a slight smidge when Excel gets her second VA, though)
-Evangelion (I especially like the way the movies were dubbed)
-Sorcerer Hunters (I only really disliked Tira's normal "form" voice...it was too scratchy)
-Slayers (*nods* I actually liked Lina's dub voice! And the scenes when Gourry, Martina, and Amelia were all talking gave me good memories of Pokemon XD)

Anubi: Oh God.

Kari: XDDDDDDDDDDDD
Anubi: My life is snow scarred.
Kari: ooooo, snow
Anubi: Oo, fun.
Anubi: SNOW SCARRED.
Anubi: WHOO.

I liked the Tenchi series a lot. I prefer the DUB to the original, all of the voices were perfect in my opinion.
Hellsing-I liked how they used many English accents. (God knows what they would be speaking had DIC or something got hold of it)
I prefer the Amazon Trio's english voices, dunno why, I just warmed to them more.
Azumanga Daioh-I still prefer the Original but the DUB was done well.
FMA-Both Al and Ed's voices were done very well.

The Death Note dub is up to 4 eps now, and it's coming along nicely. Light's voice is much better than I expected. But L's voice drives me insane (and apperently, I'm the only person in the world who hates it) but there's still time for improvments.

I think that the Miyazaki dubs are excellent. I actually think the Spanish dubs of CCS and Sailor Moon are much better than the English dubs, little censorship and the voices are all right. Although Spanish dubbed Sailor Moon, SM's voice annoyed me.

I think most dubs that come out now are a lot better than in the past. Sailor Moon came out rather early, before producers probably realized what an audiance would look for in an anime. Would they want something edited so that it seemed like an American cartoon, or would they want it to stay true to it's origins.
Though, I'll admit the list of animes I've seen after gaining an appreciation for the subbed Sailor Moon is rather short... Really, the only dub I didn't like was Sailor Moon, and that wasn't until I've seen the sub. I have Netflix now, and that opened up a wide variety of anime, so I think I'll be making some more comparisons in the future.
