Full Metal Panic (season 1)

Hoy minna! ^_^ I just started watching the anime known as Full Metal Panic. I had never really heard of it and then a classmate of mine brought in his laptop and he had Chidori Kaname as his desktop pic. Post here or get this anime to find out who she is and what the anime is about.

I've seen all of Full Metal Panic! ... it was a really good series overall. It had a really good mixture of action and comedy. I'm not one who usually watches a show with any mecha-related stuff at all, but this one was actually really good.

It's being released on DVD by ADV.

Also, there is a second season, titled "Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu". It centers around Kaname and Sousuke in school ... no more mecha stuff at all. It's actually a pretty crazy show (a comedy all the way), and is actually quite funny. It's currently being fansubbed.

I watched about 3 episodes and was terribly confused. What is this thing supposed to be? It tries to be a romantic comedy, a military drama, and god knows what else and seems to be only mediocre from what I've seen. Final judgement is reserved for a later time, when I've seen more. ^^

Yeah. I know how you feel. I was utterly confused at first too... but as you get deeper into the series you'll start to get it. I have episodes 20-24 left to watch. Ep 19 was awesome and really funny. And yeah it is a romantic comedy/Millitary drama.... but it's the sort of anime I like. At first I didn't like it.. but the cliffhanger ending of each episode made me curious as to what would happen next. Anyone who's seen it so far have any favorite characters? I like Kaname and the Captain (whose name I won't reveal until you've seen the episode where she's introduced). Yeah it's a she.. I was shocked too. Kaname's friends are cool too.. They add to the comic relief. Anyway who are your favorite characters?

I saw episode one, and I read a few installments of the Manga. I generally liked it.

OMG! Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is HILLARIOUS!! I really recommend it to anyone who's seen the first season....

Just a quick Fumoffu note: It wound up being 12 episodes overall. The 2nd one was cut out because it dealt with a child being kidnapped, and actual child kidnappings were occuring in Japan at the time.

However, now the first DVD is out (which includes that episode), and it has been fansubbed, so the entire series is now available for download.

(I know this thread is supposed to be about Season 1, but it seemed kind of stupid to make a new thread about Fumoffu which would likely only have a couple of posts total).

Oh wow...I'm so late in this comment...but I saw Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and it was sooo funny!!

I watched the whole thing last weekend and I was just laughing so hard. Who sings the opening theme song?? Gee I wonder if anyone's gonna reply considering that I saw the last post was last year...
