Harry Potter anime
You've probably seen HP fanart in anime style on the net, but what would you think of an actual anime show going through the whole series? I think it'd be kind of cute, and a lot of scenes wouldn't have to be cut because they just put them into episodes. Sounds a little crazy, but I think it would be funner than live-action. (no offense to the moviegoers)
The Facts of the Animal Kingdom:
"Zebras can bite."
"Snakes say sss."
"Lions chase people."
And of course…”Tigers bite you.”

And one from me...Leopards are gorgeous.

I agree! (I'm a complete movie hater!) The acting in the movies is terrible, but to think! They wouldn't cut a single thing from the show because it would all just be episodes. I think it's a cute idea, but then again I hope it doesn't happen. Just an excuse for people not to read the books. Sadly I've run into many people who think that reading the books is dumb and that they should just go see the movies. ugh.SeiUsa wrote:You've probably seen HP fanart in anime style on the net, but what would you think of an actual anime show going through the whole series? Why should people HAVE to read the books to enjoy the story of harry potter? They may not get the full effect by watching the movies, but it's not like it's stupid for some people to not have any desire to read the books. Plenty of people either don't care for casual reading for enjoyment, but enjoy movies very much.MollyNephlite_Fan wrote: Just an excuse for people not to read the books. I love the books AND the movies. And I think there are certain things movies and animation can convey that books can't. Usually when I read, I picture the background music, how the voices sound, etc...and it's enjoyable to me personally to see how thea ctual background music and voices of animation and movies match up to my imagination.

Re: Harry Potter anime
that's rare. that's the reason I don't like the movies. I feel as though they take away the imagination and tell you what Harry and all the other charcters should look like. I dunno. I don't think people HAVE to read the books, but they have so much more detail, it just seems more enjoy-able then being shown what some director thinks they should look like. They are opinions of you and me, I don't think we should argue.Tiff wrote:Why should people HAVE to read the books to enjoy the story of harry potter? Sweetie, this is a message board. If you can't handle debate, you don't belong here. Plain and simple. Just becuase someone disagrees with you, or wants to debate something does not mean you're fighting, being mean, yelling, or arguing.MollyNephlite_Fan wrote:

And now for my reply...I don't think it's rare at all. I know a lot of people who have never read the books, but enjoy the movies very much. I have a friend that makes sure to see every movie when it comes out, but has yet to read one of the books.
To someone who has never read the books, it doesn't make any DIFFERENCE to them what Harry and the gang look like (and, if you ask me, they did a damn good job casting o_O; I'm failing to see how any of the chars don't look like themselves). It only makes a difference to you or someone who reads the books becuase they already KNOW.

no, its rare that the way you pictured them to be, matches up to what to movies are showing you.Tiff wrote:Sweetie, this is a message board. If you can't handle debate, you don't belong here. And I dunno, I just really hate the movies because they can't be JUST like the books. I know that they don't have enough time to make the movie that long and that they put most of the important stuff in, but I wish they could make it like the movie "Pride & Prejudice". That movie is 6 hours long because it is paractically word by word with the book! And now, they are re-doing "Pride & Prejudice" and it'll be just like those Harry Potter movies! They'll skip stuff and get it wrong! And plus, they are re-doing it with Keira Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet!!! *throws up*
Actually, I've already seen the first three movies also. I didn't start reading the books till last week, and I've only read the first one so far. I checked the second book out of the library at my school just today, and may not start reading it till tomorrow. And considering I knew next to nothing about Harry Potter before I saw the first movie, I thought all three movies were pretty good.

I've read all the books and I've seen all the movies. O_o A lot of the cast looked exactly as I pictured them. My brother, who is the only other person in my house that's read the books, agrees with me on this. He thought they did a good job, too.
The only one of the movies I didn't like is the 3rd movie which, in my opinion, sucked horribly. It's been a long time since I read the 3rd book, I need to read it again, but they cut too many important details and changed too many things (that I can remember) for me to like it.

I, too, am surprised that they haven't made an anime or cartoon about Harry Potter. Maybe some non-sense cartoon full of face-faults and half-assed composed music int he background. "Harry Potter and his adventures at Hogwarts". It wouldn't need a plot. Just a bunch of random episodes with no stable plot to string the episodes together. Like Scooby-Doo.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I think that's part of the reason why I wouldn' twant to see a cartoon. It would just be like....a new and carbon copy villain every episode, and Harry and the gang beat it. And they'd probably give them these ridiculous powers that aren't even in the book...And Voldemort would be like the recurring King Koopa or Bowser in the mario brothers cartoons.Tempest wrote:

Voldemort: "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, HARRY! NEXT TIIMEEE! *SHAKES FIST*"
Malfoy: "And I would have taken over Hogwarts, if it weren't for those meddling kids and that groundskeeper!"
