I really want to watch Ghibli's not-so-popular Only Yesterday. It sounds really nostalgic. I hope they bring it to America soon. Here's a list of Ghibli films:

The release date for My Neighbor Totoro has been set at March 7, 2006 along with Whispers of the Heart and Howl's Moving Castle.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

LOVED Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.
I've never seen the originals though, but the dubs were GOOD.
I wonder if Chihiro sounded any different in the original...
She had an adorable voice, but all I could think of was Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. ^^;

They're dubbed by DISNEY?!
No wonder... xDDD;;

I finally saw Princess Mononoke last night on TCM. I liked it, but I wanted to see the Japanese version. Too bad it didn't come on until 3:15 in the morning.But I absolutely love Spirited Away, I cried at the end when the music kicks in and Chihiro has to leave Haku.

I watched Princess Mononoke Thursday night on TCM, as well. I missed the first half of Spirited Away, so I couldn't say much about that, but I loved Princess Mononoke. It was beautifully animated, and the story really connected with me. Of course, I'm a nature person, so... ^^;

It would have been nice to watch the sub version, but I had places to be the next day. Big jerks. XP

Whisper of the Heart is the prequel to The Cat Returns.

Here are descriptions of "Whisper of the Heart" & "The Cat Returns" from Anime News Network.

Whisper of the Heart:
Shizuku Tsukishima, a young girl in junior high, loves to read. Yet, every time she opens a library book, it seems the same name appears on the cards: "Seiji Amasawa". As Shizuku learns who this person is, she also begins to learn about herself and her goals in life - a discovery that will change her life forever.
The Cat Returns:
Haru-chan, a normal girl in a normal town, saves a strange cat carrying a present from being overrun by a truck. In return she's going to receive lots of favors, including marriage to the crown prince of Cat Kingdom. As she finds that a bit too much, she gets into contact with the Cat Business Office. Together with CBO's owner, the Baron, she enters the Cat Kingdom to try and prevent her marriage.
Also "The Cat Returns" was released with Nausicaa & Porco Rosso.

Thanks to Turner Classic Movies, I got to see three more Ghibli films last night. *dances*

Whisper of the Heart - Adorable. I am usually the antithesis of a romantic, but I was going "aww" by the end. Some of the background paintings for the antique shop looked damn near real.

My Neighbor Totoro - So. Freakin'. Pretty. *_* The colors and fluidity were great. I couldn't believe that it was from '88. The old traditional houses were wonderful to look at, and my eyes got all misty while looking at the trees.

Porco Rosso - Surprising. I really didn't think I would like it. "Okay, I can handle the Cat Bus, but a pig flying a plane... eh." It was great, though. I laughed through most of the movie, and the dogfights were spiffy.

I can't wait for next Thursday when TCM airs more Ghibli films. So far, I have been very impressed.

I've been loving all of the Ghibli films, some more than others. I've also been watching TMC since the beginning of January and I've watched them all, but the one I wanted to see was My Neighbor Totoro and I missed it! Well, I didn't miss it because I let my tivo tape all the movies but at the last minute it ran out of space and deleated it. So mad! :x And by everyone's comments it seems like My Neighbor Totoro is pretty good.

I thought Whisper of the Heart was adorable and hilarious, and I agree with NameGoesHere.
Do you think they'll repeat My Neighbor Totoro? Doubt it, but I think its great that TMC is playing Miyazaki's films. I want to see Howl's Moving Castle!

Once you get past the weirdness like the Catbus, it's such an incredibly sweet story. *_*

Plus the Catbus is one of the best things about the movie.

I personally have never seen the dub--up until three years ago, the only Miyazaki film available down here legally was The Castle of Cagliostro.

So THAT'S the name of that movie. Whisper of the Heart. My host mom in Japan had us watch it and it had English subtitles and everything and I knew it was a Studio Ghibli film, but I didn't know what the title of it was. That's been bugging me for a while now.

Although I missed all Ghibli films I wanted to see on TCM (stupid satellite service being cut off) I can finally see Castle in the Sky and Nausicaa later on this month. Yayness!! From what I saw though, I really enjoyed Only Yesterday. It was really funny and I cheered at the end.
