Papillon Rose

Post by Rainbow » Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:34 am

Since this is just a Sailor Moon parody show, I'm putting it here instead of in the BSSM section, but it can go there too.

http://papillon.tsubomikoneko.com/

The similarities are hilarious, especially their henshin phrase. You will never be grossed out by Star Gentle Uterus again, because it will seem quite tame!

I've never watched this, just seen this website. This isn't a joke, it's a real hentai parody of BSSM that actually includes equivalents of the Outers! (Venus 5, by the name, doesn't, since that would mean more than 5 soldiers)

The Realm of the Dessert Senshi. My fanfic series that is set in Crystal Tokyo and includes foreign Senshi, fat Senshi, a Senshi in a wheelchair and a magical hyrax.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

There was only one episode ever made according to that site. And it took them....what......5 years to make it? Hmm........sounds pretty bogus to me.

go to the official site *shrugs* There's a whole official japanese site to it, not to mention quite a few other sites dedicated to it.

That sounds so funny! I just looked at that fan site. I'm still in shock from seeing their attack and henshin phrases. Lol, it sounds down right perverted... I like it! Anything that parodies Sailormoon is good to me. ^-^

Oh, I think it is a real series (or OVA at least) look, here's it's ANN entry:

http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedi ... php?id=904

I don't think a series ever existed, but there definately looks like there's a OVA out.

Hello, noticed this place as being a refferer to my website in my Web/FTP stats page and decided to visit.

Anyways, at the current moment the official website is calling it quits after five years. It makes me sad... though I'll still keep my site going as best I can as there are still things to be reported on once I get translation help. (You can see the goodbye layout on the official website at the moment http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~novy/ )

For people interested in the episode, well since I don't know exactly what the rules are here on content, you can contact me through my forum regarding it. http://tsubomikoneko.com/board

And actually, ANN is behind the times (majorly), they don't have the OVA listed but they have the ONA (which never actually existed) listed. At the moment since AniDB seems to be down (or doesn't like my computer) here's the reference for the OVA http://www.anime-planet.com/animerec/671.html like my website says, it was going to be six episodes long, but I'm assuming the OVA DVD didn't sell well enough (without much advertisement how could it? I have two copies of the DVD, but only one other American fan that I know of has ever mentioned buying it, and they still have copies so I'm assuming a limited amount of Japanese fans bought it, or at least, not enough to sell it out.) so they never finished the other five episodes. (If anyone is interested in trying to buy the DVD from Japan you can find information on it on my website here http://papillon.tsubomikoneko.com/ovadvd.html )

Oh yes and as a last comment, thank you for visiting my site. Sorry to babble your heads off, it's a habit.

It's been around on some of the anime news sites, that Papillon Rose is getting picked up as a series. I got to see the OAV this week and it was hilarious. Particularly the part where Rose is in a compromised position, and you just *know* the Tuxedo Kamen avatar is arriving soon, and seeing what occurs instead of the rose being thrown. Hopefully the series will continue the H humor and Sailor Moon in-jokes.

Also, it feels triumphal to think that a fan-made show can become a series. Yes, it's the exception rather than the rule, but still a nod toward the hardcore fans.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

Ha wow, I saw the 'Topic Reply Notification' in my inbox a little bit ago and couldn't figure out where it was from, guess this explains why. Didn't expect anyone to post in here again, though silly me I should have realized it would happen with all the news lately.

If you want to keep up on news regarding the upcoming TV series incarnation of Papillon Rose you can watch the Livejournal community as I tend to spam it with anything I can find and we have people who translate the news for us. (http://livejournal.com/community/papillon_rose)

From what I could understand, it sounds like there's going to be CDs and books. There was also something about "under 17," and I wasn't sure if it was saying that they were turning it into a non-hentai or else if kids shouldn't watch the anime.

Or it could just mean that the group UNDER17 is doing the theme song--they've done anime before.

UNDER17 Disbanded about a year ago or something, I believe it says the person that wrote the music for UNDER17 is the one doing the music.

Besides, UNDER17 singer was Momoi Haruko, the singer of the Papillon Rose songs is Kido Kaoru as listed on the site for the anime http://www.ayaya.co.jp/staff_cast.html.

I wonder what the songs will be like though, heck I'd be happy to just know the titles of the opening and ending at this point!

And Papillon Rose was never hentai, it was just extremely perverted. It's much along the lines of Girls Bravo in my opinion as far as anything too 'in depth'. I saw more boobs in screenshots from the second season of Girls Bravo than I did in the Papillon Rose OVA. Though I'm pretty sure they aren't going to shove as much perversion in.

Ahaha... sorry... can't direct link to things on my site. I had to undo the ability to hotlink/direct link a while back because of people stealing my bandwidth.

Though I can see that the image you're trying to link to is from the ONA character design area, the designs for the TV series will follow the OVA character designs with slight changes.

Ah I just looked, you were looking at Papillon Violet, she isn't listed as being in the upcoming TV series sadly, actually she got cut from everything a long while ago though I don't really know why.

As for the attack names, those are found through the different media that was released for Papillon Rose before the whole actual TV series thing came about. Once I get my website working totally again I'll have them all listed, though wether they'll stay the same in the TV series or not is questionable. I guess only time will tell.

No worries about it, it's an internet user habit, I just had to do something about it when someone ended up basically hotlinking my entire website onto their journal a while back... instead of just posting a link. It made no sense to me and thuroughly pissed me off.

http://tsubomikoneko.com/onapromo36.png <--- there you go.

Anyway, here is an image of what some of the characters will look like for the TV series.

http://tsubomikoneko.com/08_photo_a1.jpg

And I just checked, the UNDER17 comment IS refering to the group, not an actual age reference. It says that Masaya Koike of UNDER17 origin (basically, formely of) is taking charge of the music.

Which then if that means it'll be ANYTHING like the UNDER17 music... god bouncy...

If I was excited by the prospect of this anime being released I'm now ecstatic! Glancing through the cast list on Anime News Network I found that Koyasu Takehito, my absolute favorite seiyu, is going to be in it! *does happy dance* I want it NOW! *calms*

A lot of the sites I'd visited in the past were chock full of character info and so on but now most seem somewhat bare. hmm...

But anyway, Koyasu Takehito + UNDER 17esque music should make quite an impression.
Rosencrantz: Do you think death could be a boat?
Guildenstern: No; Death is not, it isn’t. Death is the ultimate negative; not being. You can’t not be on a boat.
Rosencrantz: I’ve frequently not been on boats.
Guildenstern: No; what you’ve been, is not on boats.

I didn't know that "Under 17" was the name of a band. And I also, for some reason, thought it was a hentai anime (probably because I thought it had actual sex scenes shown). Does it, or is it more like Puni Puni Poemi?

I saw the OVA a few weeks ago. Pretty damn funny, although it was really boderline hentai. The thing that I really liked were the references to the original Cutie Honey series. :D

I hope they keep up the Cutie Honey references in the TV series.

Sites? Really besides mine there were only two others that I know of in English. The fandub site which was up and down over a few years and never had too much on it. And the translation site the girl who is helping me had up (we're putting both our sites together but she's having some troubles with her sister who owns the computer her translations were on so she's most likely going to start trying to re-translate everything soon).

I've personally been a little lazy the past year in updating the website cause I was down about the slow deterioration of the show back at the end of last year, however I've been meaning to put as much as I can back up before the TV series airs, there's just only so much I can do personally before I have to look towards my friend for her pieces that need to be put up and I don't want to pressure her since it's a LOT of work she's going to be doing. (She's translating the old official website stuff, the original archive book, and the R animation archive book)

And I was happy to see Koyasu Takehito listed too, since him and Maria Yamamoto are the only two seiyuu in the list that I recognize the names of. I'm just a little sad neither one of them have updated websites! The only people's websites I can look to for information are Kido Kaoru's (singer for the TV series songs) and Nagai Mai's (voice of Shizuku/Papillon Margarette for the TV series).

Oh actually, I just read a message from my translating friend. She got the files off her sister's computer! So she's going to start polishing up the translations she's done in the past and I'll have the character information section back up some time after she gives me the finished products! :D This makes me so happy, I really didn't want her to have to go through all that trouble again just cause her sister was being a pain and deleting stuff of hers.

---

Going on,there is a sex scene, but it's not explicit. Most people when they say 'hentai' refer to things that show explicit scenes, that's why I generally try to keep people from using the term in reference to Papillon Rose because it... 'disappoints' those people who take the term that way when they go to watch it... if you can understand what I'm saying there.

UNDER17 was a really... cutesy band in a sense, I guess you could say. The vocalist had (well has... she's still singing for anime) the most cotton candy sweet voice you'd ever hear, honestly. If you've heard of the show Nurse Witch Komugi-chan, the singer did the voice of the main character in that and sings songs for it as well. (I don't know if those were done as UNDER17 or just Momoi Haruko songs though, I'd have to check around) also some Popotan songs and some other anime songs that I can't think of right at the moment.

----

And yeah, the OVA had a lot of... intense moments, things that made my friends blush and hide (I can think of one... :? Hikaru... Rama... it shall never leave my memory) and I think they'll probably ommit some of the more shocking type things from the TV series (besides, Hikaru isn't even in the TV series though... doesn't mean Hibiki won't take his place... who knows) but hopefully still try to keep the perversion needed to make it still be the Papillon Rose that fans of the show have come to know and love. And yes... the parody pieces for Cutey Honey and Sailor Moon, I hope those both stay, this is where the lack of a mention of Dandy Lion made me kind of sad.
