This site - The Anime Sucks Foundation

Is a shame. Do what I did, and many anime fans have done. Post on the Petition, but instead voice your opinion, and tell the good of anime, I'm number 254.

......Who cares whether a website trashes your interests or not? So people are signing something just to say anime sucks. It doesn't matter. I don't see why it bothers you, or anyone else.

Of such things censorship is born, but even if it's just hot air (or hot text packets, as it were), I don't think this sort of argument should be heard without rebuttal. Find mine at #259.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I don't get it. Is this an online petition? If it is, what is it trying to do? Although it doesn't matter if it is because online petitions don't work.
Peachvampiress has an account on DeviantArt. Insanity Within.
And a Myspace account for her clothing designs.

I've seen so many of these.

People have a right to not like anime. Let them express that right, just like we express how much we love it.

You want to support anime? Buy the products. Go to conventions. Research newer developments. Do something to help. Signing a petition against someone who doesn'tl ike anime isn't going to help anything. ACtually being active in your interest will.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

What's this site going to accomplish?

Are they going to send the petition to The Evil Anime Corporation of the World? Yeah, sorry, it doesn't exist.

Your entitled to your own opinion but all the effort is going to go no where. Anime is not going to stop being made or stop coming over here from Japan. They might as well stop while they're....er....no where.

The site doesn't even work for me, I keep getting something called a 500 error. Cool, I've never got one of those before! Meh, I don't mind if people don't like anime anyway, it's just a hobby.

I wonder if whoever created this site wasn't just trying to get immature anime fans to scream obscenities. The majority of anime "supporters" who signed the petition seem to be addicted to caps lock and the f-word.

"ANIME FUCKING RULES YOU GOD DAMN DUMBASSES FUCK ASF MUST MEAN Asswhole sucking fruitcakes"

"and fuck you ass hole ythats probaly y no oe likes you go to hel and burn burn i hell ass hole"

"anime dud not suk u peice of crap! if you do not get this f@$king site offthe inernet i will find you pal!!!!!!"

Comments that don't exactly inspire any hope for the general anime community. Even several of the anime fans who could spell English words to an extent, sounded like elitists. Ever stop to think it was created to make the fans look like extreme idiots/snobs, thus supporting his views that anime "sucks?"

If you want to support anime, do what Tiffu said. Online petitions never work anyway. Who's he going to submit it to that will actually take a petition with the word "sucks" in the title seriously, anyway?

It's bullcrap. Even if the petition successfully banned anime from North America, so what? Anime is still going to get in, either smuggled over the border, or by means of downloading illegal fansubs. Like already mentioned, who is going to take the petition seriously? Online petitions like that never work.

Just because I didn't like the "ah you sux anime rocks" comments, I tried to post something a bit... err... better, cause not all anime fans are elitists, right ;) ?
288. Akarui
I'm coming here only because someone I know posted the link on a message board. Few things :

1) A petition with "Anime sucks" in the title has little to no luck to succeed in America.

2) If companies see that anime make them earn money, whatever you do, you won't be able to get anime banned.

3) You cannot use Pokemon as an example that makes you generalize about all anime.

4) To be able to say that anime really sucks, you would have to see many more series.

Few hints:
- Monster
- Full Metal Panic
- Full Metal Alchemist
- Naruto
- Card Captor Sakura
- Ojamajo Doremi
- Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Vision of Escaflowne

Need I say more ? Those aren't even close to Pokemon. Pokemon can be funny though yes, the animation is bad, though it's considered a "bad" show also because there's too much of it.

Ah, there, so I love anime, yes, and I do respect your view of not liking it, but you really should know more before stating such an opinion. Maybe you will really dislike anime after viewing more stuff, and that's your choice.

Ah, that, and there's something else: while I do respect your choice not to like anime, please respect those who do like it, and do not make us appear as retards who don't know better... everyone makes their own choices :)
I reformatted the text to the original I had intended. For easy reading :) ... I sais things like "you should know more before..." because on the front page it looks like the guy saw one ep of Pokemon and said "GAAH ALL ANIME SUCKS".

Though I do agree with you guys, signing this petition or whatnot isn't the way to support anime, buying the products is.

Akarui, I saw what that guy/girl wrote after you. Kudos to you, your's was probably one of the few well written and well structured comments on that site. (I finally can access the site ::) I don't mind when people make intelligent arguements, and there are even a few anti-anime ones I can agree with. Frankly, I'm a little dissapointed at the conduct of some people on both sides of the arguement, anime-likers and anime-haters. Gah, flaming is a terrible way to get your point accross. For pity's sake, watching anime is just a hobby, like I said, I can't believe so many people are just making flames, to see how many swear words they can fit into a single post.

Well said, Akarui-san. I also agree with doodle-san--anime is just a hobby. If you have nothing better to do with your time than to spend it on the internet flaming others about anime (like it or hate it) then you need to go out and get a job or a life. There is a world outside your computer, people.

It bugs me to see swear words in almost every single post. :x I don't see how the domain server allows sites like these. And did you see their cosplay attacks? They're so rude. It seems they themselves are perverts because they like "cosplayers with big thingies" only. :?

OMG, yeah, I saw the cosplay attacks too.

It's like people who're fat and are not EXACTLY like the character are evil. The comments were so mean!

I mean, I personnally ADMIRE "fat" people who have the courage and who just show off costumes. Because usually, people will look at them with weird eyes wondering what the heck these people smoked, when they have as much rights to cosplay as other people. It's like someone would be telling me I can't cosplay as PGSM Mercury cause I'm not as skinny ? BS. Pff.

Funny though you're commenting about this in this topic, I was going to ask a question about that in the cosplay topic. Meep. I had the feeling the site was bad when I saw all the comments for the "petition" or something, but this cosplay attacks page is just downright mean.

T_T and not only about the "fat" people... some of them are really great, like a somewhat tall black guy cosplaying as Card Captor Sakura (yes yes) which I found was really well done !

It's not so much that becuase people are overweight, they shouldn't cosplay. It's that certain clothes and costumes just don't LOOK good on certain body types.

I weight 210 lbs. I would never cosplay as, say, faye valentine. She shows her middriff. I would not do that, as I have quite the belly, and that would look..well, bad. It's a matter of tact. It's tactless to walk around with yoru stomach hanging OUT of your clothes, halfway to your knees, IMO.

*shrug* I'm perfectly fine with admitting that there are people out there who would do a far better job cosplaying certain characters than I would. Someone with a flatter stomach, toned abs, and smaller breasts would do a better job cosplaying a sailor senshi than I. I have too much self-respect to walk around showing every bit of fat I have on my body. It's not that I' mashamed of it..it's that I understand not everyone wants to see my ass or my stomach..Just as I don't want to see everyone else's.

I would never wear a bikini, becuase it doesn't looK GOOD on me. Does that make more sense?

And crossplay (where a man cosplays as a woman, and vice versa) CAN be done well, if it is, indeed, done well. But putting an overweight, hairy guy in a skimpy sailor senshi outfit? No. Just, no. That's inappropriate.

I just went and read the cosplay comments thing, and unfortunately I must admit that I did find some of the comments a bit funny.

I agree 100%. I mean, come on, just look at some of those outfits people are wearing. Some of them are just fucking nasty. You can wear an amazingly accurate costume that suits you. There are anime characters out there that wear clothing that cover their entire body.

Also, I recently went looking at other anime forum boards and going through their topics, and I find that a lot of anime fans will look at pictures of cosplayers and make rude or nitpicking comments much like these guys, so this isn't exactly new. -_- I swear to God if I see one more person go "OMFG!! HER GLOVES ARENT SUPOSED 2 GO 2 HER WRIST, THRE SUPPOSED 2 GO 2 HAF WAY BELOW HER ELBOWW!!!!!11!!" something will die.

I also agree. You've pulled the words right out of my mouth. Like, I would love to cosplay a character like Queen Beryl or Sailor Star Fighter, but I have more respect for myself then to go out dressed like that. There are too many kids being influenced by Britney Spears and so many others, I just don't think they need another bad role model. While yes, I plan on cosplaying Sailor Mercury, her outfit does not show nearly as much skin as the Starlights. On top of choosing an appropriate outfit for our body types, I do believe that it's also important to take into consideration the kids who are watching us.

I haven't looked at the cosplayers section yet, but I must say I thought this site was pretty sad. This person has the right to hate Japanese animation and those anime fans who are cursing at him for hating it are just as bad as the guy who made this site. Not to mention they're giving anime fans a bad name. The only thing I wish is that he'd give more reasons as to why he hates Japanese animation. So far, the only reason he seems to hate it is because of the animation style. When anime fans create a website for a series or movie they like, they'll usually have quite a bit of info about that program and why they like it, but this person only has one reason why he doesn't like it.

It just seems like a waste of webspace to me if you're going to create an anti-page about something and only have one reason to hate it. "Not only is the name itself grotesque, but the art and animation is unusually atrocious and looks extremely cheap" I also think that if this person went to Japan and said he thought the name "anime" was a stupid name, the Japanese might not know if he's talking about either Japanese or American animation, as they refer to any style of animation as being "anime." "I hate Anime, and Anime hates me." And one more thing I don't understand is how can a cartoon hate somebody? o.O

Just looked at the cosplay section and the 82 year old Riku made me smile well done for the old gal. Anyway something that makes me giggle is this person hates anime yet heknows most of teh names of anime and say's one of his mates got into anime beaucse of him. I just think it is a joke of some sort. However just reading tho8ught some opther post on the fourm some them seem to have a dislike for anime and give real reason. But it's the case of everybody can think what they like and like what they think.
