Just finished watching FLCL @_@

I honestly am totally lost... I think I first started getting really lost after the Mamimi/Arson video game scene. I think she's the one who commit the arsons, but why did she do it? Can some one please give me sort of summary/explanation so I can get actually get what the hell happened?

Mamimi only commited arson twice. The same area at different times, her old school. I havent seen the anime in awhile but from what I can remember is something really bad happend to her there and it happened alot. She burnt it down the first time so it wouldnt happen again, she burnt it down a second time for the memories to go away.
