Hanaukyo Maid Team La Verite

Post by sailor53 » Thu Dec 23, 2004 6:30 am

Has anyone else seen this series? I think it is so good. I can't wait until Geneon releases it. Here are pics of the first volume.

Volume 01 w/box
Volume 01

And here's a description of the show (from Anime News Network) if you've never seen it.

[spoiler]After his mother passes away, Taro Hanaukyo is invited to his grandfather's home. There, he meets a beautiful maid named Mariel and finds out that his grandfather has retired to a remote island and has given him ownership of his estate. Taro also discovers that not only is the estate a colossal mansion, it has hundreds of gorgeous maids ready to serve him 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

-_- sounds like another love hina or tenchi muyo, only with girls in maid outfits.

Sorry, but those "guy with 15 girls there to dote on him" kind of shows irritate me. Nine times out of ten, the guy just sits around blushing, awkwardly falling on top of a girl here or there, never actually coming close to a real relationship until the very end of the show.

And there are always at least three girls that are madly in love with him, despite his ass-holery and stupid nature.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I would have to agree with Tiff. The only show I like that's even close to that genre is Ranma 1/2, and that's because BOTH the boys and the girls go psycho trying to please the opposite sex (or at least what they think would please their love interest). Ranma has a harem of girls, but Akane also has a harem of boys, so it's more equal.
