Get Backers

Post by Sakuya » Fri Oct 08, 2004 11:49 pm

This is an awesome series from back in 2002. It's licensed by ADV though. Is anyone going to seriously think of collecting all of them? There are 49 episodes. I admit, I don't like how ADV picked up the rights to it. :x I regret having dropped the series after watching 10 or so episodes during its fansub days due to a slow computer. It's really a great series though and I highly recommend it! Here's a summary from Animenfo:
Ban Mido and Ginji Amano, is known as the "GetBackers" who's motto is "If it's stolen, we can steal it back!". And the GetBackers success rate is always 100%.

Always waiting around the Honky Tonk, clients call in to ask the GetBackers to retrieve something for them. And so, Ban and Ginji goes through many weird and bizarre cases as they set forth to "get back" the belongings...
If anybody was lucky enough to get all the fansub episodes, please tell me how the rest of the series is! I was lucky to find a torrent for this entire series' fansubs but just today, ADV demanded the tracker to stop the distributions so I'm stuck at 50% and not sure what to do. -_-"

I own the manga for this series but I haven't seen any of the anime for it. To be honest I'm kinda falling away from the story. The first few books weren't the best but they were ok. I'm not one to give up on a series so I'll stick with it and see how it turns out. ^^

I've only been able to get the first and third volumes but I'm in shock! I'm sure i saw a female pronoun in relation to Kazuki-chan. Can it be that they've done a Zoicite on him?

I have a feeling he's a feminine guy. But that's what makes this series so interesting! I wish I had money to buy the entire series. And I wish I had downloaded the entire fansubs before it was licensed. :x

I know he's a feminine guy, but they seem to be being somewhat ambiguous about his gender (I'm certain I saw a female pronoun at some point but can't seem to find it now) and they refer to him as a "seamstress" which is a somewhat female title. I just hope they aren't trying to censor the 'sort-of-implied-may-be-possible-in-a-yaoi-fan's-dream-heavily-hinted' relationship he has with
Jubei
