Mermaid Saga

Does anybody like the Mermaid Saga by Rumiko Takahashi? There are several manga that have been translated as well as an anime OVA and the currently airing TV series.

Just wondering if the manga are in any order. Because I borrowed 2 volumes of it and didn't know which to read first.

Also, has anyone seen the OVA or the TV series yet? Please post some of your opinions here as I haven't seen it. It's on my wish list though.

The manga order is Mermaid Forest, Mermaid Scar and Mermaid Gaze.

The manga series is seriously creepy. not to mention violent. (like that stops me from checking it out from the library every so often

) However, I do enjoy reading it because Rumiko is so awesome with how she really makes you ponder things and really look at life and human nature. These people are immortal and have you ever really thought about what life would be like to go on living forever?

I recommend it for reading. Hoping to see the tv series someday myself.

Thanks for the order! I think I have read the second and third one. Is that all? Because Mermaid's Gaze doesn't really seem to end...is there a definite ending to the series that explains if Yuta dies?

Right now just those three volumes have been released in the US and I can't find anything that tells if there are any others that were released in Japan. It's really super annoying because I'd love to know if there are any more stories about them too. I hate it when people just leave a story at one point and never give you any indication if the plot was ever continued.

I'm guessing that we'll find out when the anime comes out.
