Shoujo-ai manga...?

Post by Senshi_Dreams » Sun Aug 01, 2004 2:31 am

I've been looking for a new manga series, and I'd really like a shoujo-ai one. However, whenever I look at the bookstore, I really only find shounen-ai. Can someone tell me a series that actually has a good amount of shoujo-ai in it? Like the amount of shounen-ai that Gravitation has. That's what I'm looking for.

Hrm..*Ponders*

Shoujo Kakumei Utena has a shoujo-ai sort of theme, but it's not strictly a shoujo-ai manga.

The Miyuki-chan in Wonderland books are chock full of bits and pieces of yuri/shoujo-ai, although it's mostly teasing, flirting, and sexual innuendo rather than actual love and committed relationships.

Honestly, the market for shoujo ai just isn't as big as for shonen ai, and a lot of japanese titles are not yet licensed for release in the US.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

You can also try out Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. It hasn't been officially released, but I was given the link to a site that has scanlations of it. As a bonus, it's part of the UsagiandMamoru.com domain!
