hey, im sorry if this has already been posted but all the speculations that toei wants to finish off the anime to make room for the live action turn out to be false! starting september 21st 2004, Sailor Moon R will be released on DVD in Japan, each volume retailing at 3,800 Yen and containing 6 episodes. I guess that wether or not ep 67 is on there we will know the truth once and for all concerning the episode...
o, btw, my source is from the toei dvd catalog (its in japanese)

Does anyone have the first seasons dvds from Japan?
If any of you do, does it come with an English subtitle? You guys may think it's weird I ask that, but I ask because usually dvds in the u.s. have the option for French or Spanish subtitles.

The R2 Sailor Moon dvds don't have English subtitles.

Yoohoo!!
Sorry, like most Japanese DVDs, they come with no subtitles at all. The only extras are the clean OP/ED and the Next episode previews strung together in sequence. (The NEPs are also in with the video where they belong, so the second extra is kinda pointless.)

For anyone interested, the art for all the SMR R2s as well as dates have been announced:

Very pretty artwork that uses some of the LD images nicely, and the ones not from LDs look really good too. Maybe I'll actually be able to buy these as they come out (I still need to get the first season, want to see if I can still get the box somewhere). Also it looks like these discs will all be released by the end of the year, would be a great Christmas gift for people. ^_~

I really love the covers for those DVDs. They're just beautiful. It would have been great if North American companies would use the original cover art when releasing titles here.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Wow, the covers look gorgeous! The artwork looks like it has been recoloured, it looks much better than the laserdiscs. I recognise the cover of the 2nd volume, I think it was used on the official site.
I'd really like to get these... I think the whole set would cost about £160... £20 each, not bad. Hate to think of the import costs though! Anyway, it would be nice, as they are region 2 I could play them on any DVD player in my house, not just my all-region one in my room.

Those are very pretty. I particularly like Volume 2, with Usagi back-to-back with Sailor Moon. I wonder if anyone will sell, like maybe on eBay or similar, just the cases so you can use them for your R1 DVDs.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"
The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

What i've noticed on ebay alot is that SM fans sell Sailor Moon movies on DVD. Also which is good some of the fans sell all the movies at once which is well good saving postage & packaging. Actually next time I do see those movies I'll give it ago and buy them! I'll try getting the episodes as well if i do see them hopefully.

Odds on, these are almost all bootlegs.
A word of advise, don't bother with eBay for DVD's of any kind.
