Um, no, there is no Golden Millennium. Janelle Jiminez made one up for her fanfic trilogy "The Sailormoon Millennia Trilogy" but that's just a fanfic.

Just out of curiosity, where did you think you heard about a Golden Millennium? Something on the show? Or some other place?

When I first saw one ep of the American dub, I thought the American dubbers were complete nuts. I had seen the French dub, the original, and already thought the French dub was *baaad* but when I saw this... ugh... and I think I saw the first ep, and the ep in which Serena turns into the Princess. Other than that I just saw clips, some of them looking like parody o.O;;;

O.o What the hell kind of name for a place is "Silver Millennium", anyway?
Yeah, but I have no idea how long ago it was...I honestly think it IS a thousand years..

As for the name...one definition of millennium is: "A hoped-for period of joy, serenity, prosperity, and justice." Now, knowing how the Japanese like to use English even if it's used the wrong way, they probably meant it to be mean like "Silver Serenity" or something of the like. It makes sense to me if you look at that definition.

-Zoicite was female.
-Luna was old.
-Mina(ko) was bland.
-Makato was a brash tomboy.
-Rei was an insensitive b*tch.
-Mamaro(sp?) was interested in Rei.
-All the enemies were aware of each others' existence.
-Haruka and Michiru were cousins. (Well, I WAS 11.... :? )
-Fish-Eye was female. (He's still awesome regardless of his gender. :D )
-Zirconia was male.

I also got confused about Zirconia as well; I used to think she was a man.

By the time the dubbed R season came out, I knew most about the original, thankfully. It was very dumb and pointless to make Zirconia into a male.

Is it just me, or does Zirconia look like some character Akira Toriyama would draw and appear on Dragonball?

Anyways, I think even the people in Japan were confused by Fish Eye's sexuality considering the fact that he was voiced by a girl with a VERY FEMININE VOICE. Zoicite was feminine even in the original, but you can tell even by his voice that he was a guy.

So that was ANOTHER mistake CWI fixed. Nehelenia (dub) mentioned a kingdom called 'Silver Millenium". At first I thought it was a mistake, but later on I found out it was a place.

I also thought Zoicite was a girl. I didn't even notice her chest until I found out she was really a guy. I honestly didn't even think about that. I believed most of what the dub told me until I found out about the original.

Artemis? He didn't sound that old to me... I agree about Luna, though.8

I'd think that even from the Japanese version of the anime. Anime Metallia was pretty pathetic in general (except in the past) compared to the much cooler-looking manga Metallia...

Tiff: Makes me wonder if the people who wrote the script didn't KNOW that.

Dinozore: Actually, Luna and Artemis are old. I think Luna said that they're from the Silver Millennium directly and that they were just preserved in that container thing, not reincarnated. Notice they were NOT in a bubble--I bet they were just sleeping that whole time. Luna, in the Japanese version, says she's from the Moon. She says Usagi and everyone else are reincarnations of people from the Moon, which is a different thing, I think. Or I may be translating my subtitles wrong. As for why Luna and him sound so young, it's because their lives were kind of frozen. So probably most of their aging processes stopped when they were traveling to Earth, hence why Luna acts more "youthful" and sounds that way in the Japanese version.

I might be wrong, though.

There's no reason they shouldn't have. It's mentioned I believe at least twice in the original how old the girls were...had ANYBODY seen and translated the script at all, they'd know that.

I'm wondering what point you're trying to make....

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.

My point is, the scriptwriters may not have read the original script. I know you didn't write the episode comparisons, but in some of them, it sounds like there's speculation that the scriptwriters were just given a general idea for what each episode about, hence why DiC has so many changes from the original. Given that I've never even met anyone from DiC, so far as I know, nor have I worked for the company, I wouldn't know, but it's just a guess I have. Just a maybe, and it would explain why there's so many changes. The other idea I had is that they read the script but then just wanted to change stuff for the heck of it.

Yes, in the Japanese version, Endyminion said that Metallia wasn't a human, but a mass of energy.

The only few things from the dub I actually belived was that Fish-Eye and Zoicite were women and that Zirconia was male (well, she looks like one, anyway) and that Haruka and Michiru were actually related. As far as Haruka and Michiru's relationship, I saw one source somewhere a long time ago that said they were just very close friends and Japanese girls at that age were like that with their friends.(It may have been the SOS site I found this at. I am even still wary of this arguement, because there is no real sufficent evidence to suggest otherwise.) Anything else I had first seen in the dub I had the feeling just didn't sound right at all.

I noticed "her" chest right away. When I was 10, my friends made no comment about it, but I did debate whether or not Zoicite was really female. I was like "Where are her boobs?!" (Come on, I was 10!)

However, I was convinced that Fisheye was female and that Zirconia was male.
