I think it will be a while before I'll buy the "new" manga. I spent a lot of money on those two boxsets, not to mention I need to buy a $300 camera for my photography class (a nice little tidbit I wasn't informed of until after signing up). I'm sure they'll end up on my shelf eventually.

If anything, I'ma sell my old, not-too-well-translated MixxZine "phonebooks", comics, and gns to garner up some money for any possible re-release. I wouldn't mind them with the new translations, either...I love the cover illustrations, and one is never too old for stickers :P

Huh? What phonebook? I would buy it if a company decides to release it. I really hope they would include every single extra and not have some black and white copy of the color inserts. The stickers don't matter to me because I'm just going to leave them there. Then in several years, the sticker pages will probably fall out and then I'll have to find a new place to put them. ^^"

Phonebook: I've heard this term tossed around for those thick manga compilations - like Shonen Jump - they have in Japan. I was referring to Mixx's original books that had Sailor Moon, Parasyte, Rayearth...and one more. The name escapes me now ><

I think it was called "Smile." :? As for this "new" Manga, I will buy it sometime in the near future. To those of you who don't know Japanese and would like to learn, I can suggest self help CD's for your computer, that's how I learned. :P

Tha's the one. Thanks, Anthy :)

And Usagi04: In the beginning, Mixx did publish SM in MixxZine, but after the 7th issue, moved it to a comic book, while Supers was in Smile. I purchased both for a while before just switching to GNs.

...end off-topic.

Wasn't there another one they did called SushiGirl or something?

Sushi Girl was another one they stuck in Smile. I believe they also had "Peach Girl", which I liked as well. I picked up one of the Japanese GNs of that one, even though I can't read a lick of it ^^;;

The thing with Mixx...they really pulled a fast one on its subscribers, unfortunately. They said they were moving SM to comic book format AFTER we'd renewed our subscriptions, which really got me upset as I'd practically wasted $30 or so on an anthology I'd never read before :(

It was Harlem Beat, not Slam Dunk. (Slam Dunk is being released in the US by Gutsoon though.)

I haven't tried comparing the old one and the new one yet, but here's are bigger scans of the covers.

The ad with Sailor Moon winking is scary. o_o;; Also, this is the best cover yet! It has so much fire! And I wonder why Takeuchi decides to change everything so it matches the live action show? Why can't the live action show match the original manga? :?

Wow... the vol 3 cover looks cool o__o

My vols 1 and 2 arrived the other day. Some of the changes I've noticed are that a lot of the screentone effects during things like transformations, which originally looked quite pixelly and cheap, have been replaced by shiny new effects that look much more professional. Also, I noticed quite a few times that Luna was redrawn X_x Sometime soon I plan on adding a section at my PGSM site, Juuban District (shameless plug) about the new version of the manga.

It may be that Naoko decided to change things in the original manga and made them use the new terms in the live action series (although "Moon Tiara Boomerang" makes me doubt that - it doesn't look like a boomerang in the manga!)

Holy Shite this is old o___0. But I was wondering if anyone knows how much these issues are in yen individually (because I might be able to buy all of them at the source this summer 8)) Also, if there are 12 issues and all ten of the soliders are on each cover, what do you think the last two covers will look like? I'm betting Luna will be on issue 11 and Artemis on issue 12.

Nah...my money's on the Starlights and Eternal Sailor Moon or Princess/Neo Queen Serenity.

The books are 429 yen, which would be the direct (cover) price. So far they're up to issue 8; I think nine is coming out soon.
