Episode 67: My Thoughts

Post by Cardcaptor Takato » Tue Mar 23, 2004 12:33 am

Since ADV Films didn't get the rights to Japanese episode 67 of the Sailor Moon R season, for whatever the reason, I had to download a crappy Realmedia fansub of it to watch and I had to post my opinions about the episode. It actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable and I quite liked it. I don't see why so many people think it's the worst episode ever.

There was some humorous moments; it was one of the few times during this season that Chibi-usa DIDN'T annoy me; I thought her friendship with the dinosaur was really cute and it was a nice break from all the fighting the Sailor Senshi went through before their intense battle with the Four Phantom Sisters in episode 68.

So, what do you think about this episode? Do you like it, hate it, or wish it had never existed and why? Please don't discuss why this episode didn't get licensed, because that's already being discussed in the thread about the boxsets, but just tell your feelings about this episode in general.

Yeah, I have it on RealPlayer too, but for some reason my CD came with a bunch of the R season raw, so I just watched it in Japanese.

From what I could understand of it, I really liked it. I loved the sweet story about my favorite character and her dinosaur friend. I think other people don't like it, though, since it does focus on Chibi-Usa-sama, and she isn't very popular.

I did like how it was a break from the action of the other episodes, too...considering what was said on the topic about being a real Sailor Senshi, they need breaks like that!

Hmm, maybe people don't LIKE seeing the Senshi have stories out of battle? Maybe it was because the idea of them meeting a dinosaur was too far-fetched?

Well, I think that the missing episode caused ADV to loose some business, but not too much. All the people out there who didn't buy the boxsets because of the episode will just find other ways to get R, but the people like me who are just too sick and tired of being dubbies will buy it- Not caring about the missing episode. For me, I really couldn't care less about it-sure, I want to see it- but I'm probably never going to have another chance to buy R again...I'm too young to have a credit card, and there is no possible way my Dad's buying fansubs. I'm sure a lot of people are like this too.
I really want to see it, and have no understanding on why it was left out, but I'm still eagerly waiting to recieve my boxset so I can watch the rest of the season in peace.

Mr. James : Extreme set back.
Dave : Milk?
Mr. James : Spilled.
Dave : Gonna cry about it?
Mr. James : Not even.
Dave : I''m sitting on a rather sharp tack.
Mr. James : That's gotta hurt.
Dave : Well, life's a bitch...
Mr. James : ...And then you die.
Dave : My...
Mr. James : ...oh...
Dave : ...my.

I only saw ten minutes of it, but I thought it was really cute. One of those episodes that are pointless, but so cute you really don't care. I think it was a great idea to make such a carefree episode in the middle of the season. Great break for us emotional people.

Where can I download it subbed so I can see the rest?

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

But isn't a little girl going back into the past all alone without knowing anyone there to find something she has no clue where it's at also too far-fetched? Sailor Moon is supposed to be fantasy, so anything is possible in it's realms.

I got this episode when I bought my bootlegged version of Sailor Moon R. The episode is not that bad. I thought the little dinosaur was cool. It wasn't a surprise that Chibi-Usa turned out to be it's best friend.

First it was the dinosaur, then Hotaru, Pegasus/Helios, etc.

An episode featuring Mars in a bathing suit can't be all bad!

I thought it was a decent episode. Not the best but certainly not the worst like some people have been saying.

I personally don't like it because it interuptes the story. It's a useless, pointless, and TERRIBLY boring little side trip that manages to be cute, but not much more! Personally cute doesn't cut it anymore, I want supstance to back things up now. I personally don't think anyone will die if they never see it...heck, if the episode had been on this DVD set then most likely no one would have ever said anything about it, its just too plain.

I have seen the episode. I didn't care too much for it, but I don't think it's the worst episode of the entire series like some people do, I thought there were a lot of worse episodes. I don't think this episode is entirely useless or filler since, in my opinion, Chibiusa in the R season just came off as some whiny little brat that needed to be taken care of and I thought this episode showed a better side to her.

I think I know what he/she's talking about. I have just about the whole series bootlegged. Back in 2001-2002 I downloaded all the fansubs that were on MKBO, which is down at the moment as far as I know. Ask Dan (Marioknight) to be sure as to when it's going back up. You can also search the net for them. If all else fails and if you have a high speed internet connection i.e. Cable, DSL etc I can send you the eps over AIM or MSN.

Celexa: I can send that ep to you if you'd like.

Good luck.

I really liked this ep. I thought it was funny.

Anyone who asks me when it will be back up has directly volunteered to get themselves up here to Oswego, NY and do all my schoolwork for me for the rest of the semester. Someone wants it up so bad, then they can come here to take out the biggest thing blocking me from getting work done on it. I can give no timeframe in when it will be back up as trying to do so would be near impossible until at least school is over. School is why building phobos took so long and why recoding the site took so long as well, and won't change for MKBO.
