Sailor Moon BGM - episode 172

Post by Sailor Europa » Sat Mar 06, 2004 12:30 pm

If you've seen episode 172, you might be able to help me.

Towards the end of the episode, the Sailor Senshi are standing around Nehelenia in a circle. They're uniting their powers with Usagi. Nehelenia starts to get confused and scared, attacking them.

While this is happening, the background music is being played. It's mostly composed up of string instruments. It's rather low and nice to listen to. If anyone knows of the title of it, please tell me. I want to download it. I'll probably be able to find it at sailormusic.net once I know the name.
It's a short BGM.

Sorry, the music you're referring to is a Studio Library track and has never been released, at least not on a Sailor Moon CD.

The closest thing to it is "Queen Beryl" from the first Super Nintendo side scroller game. It's reused in the Another Story rpg. And sounds very similar to the BGM that you're talking about.

So you might want to check http://www3.telus.net/public/tuxbeej/info/game.html (not sure if allthe links are working now)

Oh wow, I just realized how similar those tracks are. Could they possibly be the same thing? The SNES version may be the full version of the music from that episode.

hello...actually, the piece you're referring to is the last part of "Captured Sailor Soldiers" which is track 8 on the Musicbox 6..

when i tried to d\l the Queen Beryl song, it wouldnt let me..although i have heard that song before, and it does sound a lot like the one used in 172..but im positive, this is the exact version used in the episode...

i'm new to this forum, so im not sure how you can attach a file..i'm usually on the sailormusic.net forum, and it allows you to post an attachment but i dont know if they let you on here..but anyway..you can just go to sailormusic.net and download it! :)

Yes Jeff, they are the same thing. The last part of "Toraware no Sailor Senshi," mentioned by SMMusic217, is indeed the exact same song as track 15 "Kyodai Queen Beryl" of the CD for the game. And I mean the exact song.

I have both of those music files on my computer, but I just now connected the two… @_@;;

Really are they exactly the same? I remember the game version on the CD not being as "stringy" and some notes being different after the beginning. Oh well.

I just listened to them again, and from what I heard the version used for the Stars BGM is a bit more embellished, or more stringy, as you said. And I believe that you are right about a couple of notes being different. They sounded slightly deeper when compared to the version from the game.

So, I must revise my remark of "exact." They are the same song, just two different versions of it. Kind of like the Dali and Moon Lips versions of Moonlight Densetsu.

By the way, that was a very good catch LadyFlameSniper. Your memory must be a lot better than mine. ^_^;;
