Re: Season 1...where to download
If you search for Sailor Moon on http://www.suprnova.org then you might be able to download the entire first season. You need bittorrent to do it, though.Sailorm64 wrote:Ok, so this has probably come up before..but does anyone know where I can download just the first season of Sailor Moon? And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I know another spot is

You'll have to read the rules though, but once you do and get in, I find that only the mirrors work for download, and even then the server is rarely on, but hey, it's a place.

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....
Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

Re: Season 1...where to download
Is there any way you can type in a search for a particular file in like a search engine or something at that site? I already have the Sailor Moon Season One DVD boxset, so I don't need those episodes, but there's other anime I'd like to download but I'm too lazy to browse through all those files to find it.Stephen Victor wrote:If you search for Sailor Moon on http://www.suprnova.org then you might be able to download the entire first season. Yes, you just press "Search" that's at the top of the page in yellow letters and then type in whatever you want.Cardcaptor Takato wrote:Is there any way you can type in a search for a particular file in like a search engine or something at that site? Well, considering ADV's releases, those ARE DVD quality. ^_~
Now seriously answering your question, right now it's up to my knowledge that the only way to get the quality which I think you're referring to is the Japanese R2 DVDs of the first season. Though I'm sure by now someone has made high quality subs out of them.

How does the quality of the R2s stack up against the R1s? I've been tempted to get them if there is a signifigant difference in quality be tween the two.MarioKnight wrote:Well, considering ADV's releases, those ARE DVD quality. ^_~

When the R2s were made, Toei completely remastered them, and look amazing. I can't wait until I can afford to buy them, you'll probably see me buying all the R2 BSSM DVDs that were made this summer over ebay, gotta have those boxes. ^^;;; Compared to the R2s, the ADV R1s look like they just shit something out of their ass, as I've heard the R2s are simply beautiful.Aya Reiko wrote:How does the quality of the R2s stack up against the R1s? I'll take your word for it. I've just ordered the first couple of volumes from CD Japan (I had a coupon I wanted to use), I'll post some audio and visual comparisons as soon as I get them. That should be around late this week or early next week.MarioKnight wrote:When the R2s were made, Toei completely remastered them, and look amazing. I'm using AnyDVD on my system, using WinDVD (and obtaining screenshots) should be no problem.

You can already hear the audio differences here, but seeing some pictures and/or video of the R2 would be awesome. I really want to see these for myself but can't afford them.

I know of a site which offers so far half of the first season of sailor moon, although when i use bittorent with them the download rate is low. I have downloaded one episode though and the quality is great. But and this is a big but episodes 1-10 only come as a pack which is 1.7gb a hell of a big file!!
Here's the site anyway

Meh, I could tell those are just R1 DVD rips on sight and quick audio listen, and proven right with the out of order sequences. So far the award for best subs still goes to my fansub VHSs.

I know a great fansubber who has every episode, however, it seems she is gone, as her website is no longer up, and I tried e-mailing the owner and no one has responded. Too bad, at least I own all my fansubs, however, soemone I know needed another fansubber, so I was trying to see if my old fansubber could help them. Oh well.
