Scariest Battle

Wen I was a kid (before S had hit American television) I found pictures of Hotaru on a cross (from Chibiusa's dream). It was kind of scary considering my age.

I wasn't very aware of the "scariness" of Michiru's nerf-dart scene until I actually heard MICHIRU. Her screaming startled my parents. Then again, a LOT of Sailor Moon does.

Ah, yes, the cross. Hell, i was about 18 when I first saw that scene online, and I about crapped myself. It was terrifying, seeing all of those decaying hands reaching toward poor Hotaru...and then her screams at the end!!

And yes, Michiru's screaming always tears at me T_T

The Grim Reaper type person that chased Chibi-Usa around in her dreams during R. That dude was freaky, especially since she couldn't wake up...

For me the scariest battle was the one with Galaxia in the final episode. The only other three people left were Star Fighter Star Healer and Star Maker. Thinking that you are battling against all odds with everyone you know and love gone really freaks me out.

For me, a lot of the battles in the 1st season were creepy. only a few were actually not that creepy.

On the scary factor, I have to say the Stars season of the manga. the death of Princess Kakyuu. *shiver* that staff didn't look like it was sharp at all. Sailor Chi is very vicious with that thing.

Then later to have Usagi fighting against her friends and having Mamoru calling for her death. I could never survive all that and stay sane!

I agree...some of her pictures somewhat gross me out. That's why I prefer the anime as well, it's not as graphic, even though it's moving pictures.

You know, after all the battles Usagi's been through, I think it's amazing how she's managed to stay so optimistic and upbeat. It takes someone really strong to be able to do that. That's probably one of the things that makes Usagi so likeable.

The events that took place in the Starlight Tower (episodes 34 & 35) are my choice.

Zoicite sends a blast of fire down the elevator shaft, then nearly impales Sailor Moon… And later, Kunzite returns and throws the Senshi's powers back at them. When I first watched that episode I thought Kunzite had killed them.

One battle that really creeped me out was episode 199. The whole episode. I was so scared when Sailor Galaxia was attacking everyone, then when the Sailor Starlights attacked her I had read on this before, so my head was screaming that she was good, and TWICE in the that episode for ALL THE WORLD it looked like she died when she really didn't.

[spoiler]When Sailor Moon tried to heal her and the music made it sound like Sailor Galaxia was defeated when BAM Sailor Galaxia breaks Sailor Moon's rod. Then the Sailor Starlights attacked her and it looked like she was dead again when she wasn't.[/spoiler]

Also, when the Sailor Starlights were about to attack Sailor Galaxia, I honesty thought those were their last words. "We can leave you with our hope." And some other things I can't quite remember. I think another one was something like "For the glimmers that are about to go out, we'll put on one final display."

[spoiler]When she took Sailor Moon's Sailor Crystal, that was kinda creepy to me.[/spoiler]

Call me sensitive about all this, but I tend to really get into anime I like. ^.^;;

I also agree with everyone on the "Graphic Death Scene" topic. In Super S 4 (Tankouben 15) when Nehellenia blasted Sailor Moon in the previous act, it showed Sailor Moon's skin melting, and since there was Princess Serenity on the cover, I kept flipping back and forth between the page and cover in disbelief. But I finished it, and I now find comfort in what happens!

I'm gonna go with the final battle with Beryl, but not the FINAL battle (with Princess Serenity, etc); the whole freakin' ordeal. I've never seen the uncut version of these episodes, but even the dub is pretty scary. The Stars battle is kinda scary too.
I do know that the LEAST scary battle is the battle with Pharoah 90. *ala Kuzco from Emperor's New Groove*: "Ooh, I'm a big scary blob, and I'm takin you with me." feh. God. Worst. Battle. Ever.

The battles against DD Girls, Endymion, Mistress 9, Pharaoh 90 and Galaxia was scary. All the movies had scary battles (especially R, when Fiore beat the crap outta Moon).
The battle in the R-episode (the one when Ami was accused for cheating), also scared me. I knew that Ami wouldn't really attack her friends, but it was scary anyway

In the manga (I have only read a few), the scariest battle was;
against Endymion ( the end of that battle was so sad)

The one against Metalia (when the Soldiers sacrificed their pens)

The exambattlepart, when a demon take over Rei.

The battle against the evil reincarnated Sailor Soldiers (stars). That battle makes me sad and scared everytime. I don´t have friends, but if I had and I would have to fight against them like that, I would hesitate.

The final battle against Chaos. Go, Usagi-chan!!

It's the first battle and I felt so scared. My heart was beating really fast. Morga was very scary. Having to fight it is scary, especially when it's your first battle. It was very dark in the jewerly shop too. Very dark. The youma, has a face which changes shape. It's head turns around, it's arms extend, and having to fight it, must truely be a terrifying experience. I remember I felt like I was fighting it. Morga was a frightenning youma and creature, and that battle was so scary. I think that out of all the battles, the battle with Moruga in episode 1 was the scariest. I found it incredibly scary when Zirconia is choking SM when they're flying up with that floating circus tent. . She was right at the edge and could have fallen hundreds or thousands of feet to the ground. I think I would have died crying or something if it had been me.

Also, I would have been pretty freaked out if I was up against a wall and a lemur was sticking a drill in my face like in the SuperS dentist episode.

For me, the scariest battle was in the first episode of SStars....But for those who haven't seen it, I'll put a spoiler tag on it.... There are going to be two moments.

1.)
[spoiler]When Nehelenia's Mirror Parodies are attacking the Outer Senshi, and the Outer's are at a stand still (With Uranus about to fall off a building and Neptune ctrying to get her, and with Pluto being held by her arms by another Parody so she wouldn't go anywhere), one of the Mirror Parody things goes up to the baby Hotatu, and grows her nails out really long, and is about to stab Hotaru, but her power deflects the enemy.[/spoiler]

2.)
[spoiler]After baby Hotaru turns into a slightly older girl, and she says something like "The revolution is coming" or whatever, they show Eternal Sailor Moon hanging off some branches, and she looks dead.[/spoiler]

Sorry if these spoilers seem long winded and complicated.... I've caught my death and can't think straight. x_X;

The episode in Stars where Galaxia takes the Inner Senshi's starseed. Just the red and black background, the sound as it rips through them and their jerking movements just got to me.

I'd also say the episode where Uranus and Neptune's tailsman are removed, but the lack of blood didn't freak me out as much as it could have. The fact that Neptune doesn't have any cuts or marks makes her look like a wimp to me because it looks likes she's not that hurt. Her screams, however, are disturbing.

The battle that always sticks in my head was the one with Garoben (episode 8). A lot of it is admittedly comical, but suddenly her arm turns into a giant axe and she's standing over Ami (who doesn't know what the hell's going on), threatening to cut her head off.

Also, I'd go for Mikuji and Nekoneru (episodes 90 and 91)... because suddenly the Sailor Senshi are fighting enemies they can't even scratch. It's odd whenever they're depicted as powerless like that.

For pure creepy factor, I'd have to pick the first two youma that Sailor Moon had to fight (Morga and whatshername...) The fact both of them looked like the undead didn't really help. And as someone already mentioned, when Morga twists her head around, that's really disturbing.

Another thing in the first season really creeps me out. In the Nephrite arc, where the youma come out of the object the were possessing and drain the victims energy. The whole sketchiness of the scenes along with the read and black colouring is just really unnerving. The music played with those scenes is really nightmarish too. *shudders*
