New/old SM Merchandise!

Post by RoastedTwinkies » Wed Jan 28, 2004 2:43 am

There have been so much Sailor Moon merchandise that's been produced over the years and soon became discontinued. Just for the sake of curiosity, list some new merchandise that's produced today! I can't think of any at the moment, but I do know some new merchandise is being produced in Japan for the new PGSM series. Were there any classics that were discontinued that you miss? I remember those Sailor Moon Adventure Dolls released by Irwin and that Heinz Sailor Moon pasta was priceless! I laughed when I first saw it at the grocery store. I was just thinking to myself, "Sailor Moon pasta? What's next?" Well, I don't really miss those, but I'm still kicking myself for not collecting all of the two inch chibi figures. The link for those is here: http://members.lycos.co.uk/chibiusa/naoko . If you look closely, you'll see the figures I'm talking about on Naoko Sensei's desk <3 <3 <3

EDIT: I guess I should list everything I have too.
- SM Classic ADV box set
- SM R ADV box set
- SM S Heart Collection DVDs 1-4
- ADV's Trials and Troubles VHS
- 1 chibi Sailor V plushie
- 1 chibi Sailor Moon figure
- 1 chibi Sailor Jupiter keychain
- 1 Sailor Star Healer keychain
- prismatic puzzle
- 2 day planners
- a pack of mini envelopes
- playing cards
- 3 posters (bootlegged from Taiwan)
- Bandai trading cards (from Japan)
- Full Moon Collection CD
- The Best of Sailormoon, Where's the Love (R soundtrack) and various other Japanese SM CDs (Ever Anime, bootlegged from Taiwan)
- 2 notebooks (no copyright info on back, I suspect they are made in Taiwan)
- the third artbook
- a bunch of other odds and ends I can't think of at the moment.

O.O I have most of those figures (Except the Molly, Tuxedo Mask, and Serena one. I have all five Inner Senshi). Got them for 50 cents each in a Kay-B Toys outlet in Delaware a year or two back.

I'd really like a new set of Luna and Artemis plushies. I think the new ones being produced for PGSM are really cute, and I'd like to see how they look compared to my Irwin set.

I kick myself for opening my five Inner Senshi Bandai America Adventure Dolls, since now they've been damaged. I thought the Deluxe ones were ugly, but the little Adventure dolls were kind of cute. I lost my Irwin "Rini" doll a while back, and my Tuxedo Mask one is missing his clothes. I miss the original Adventure dolls, and some of the later ones. Unfortunately, when Irwin released their last line of toys, none of the stores in my area carried any Sailor Moon stuff anymore. Heck, it was hard enough getting the five Inners back when Bandai released them. I recently ordered some new Bandai America Moon, Venus, and Jupiter dolls from a site, but I can't find an online ordering site that has the original Mars and Mercury, or even Queen Beryl. Heck, I'm even looking for the 'blooper' dolls that had all the girls in Sailor Moon boots. I wanted the chibi figures, but like I said, none of the stores in my area bothered to carry Sailor Moon anymore, at that time Pokemon cards were the big thing, and Sailor Moon was an "out" fad. Damn you Irwin toys, why'd you have to discontinue making all those neat toys! Okay, maybe not the original Deluxe dolls, but you know what I mean. Heck, I'd pay (almost) anything to have that rare Sailor Saturn doll they released..I wish they released a 6 inch one though..*sigh* I just love collecting anime stuff..

I have all but Mercury of the Chibi figures mentioned in the first post (my cousins gave them to me for my 17th birthday, I think). I also have Star Maker and Star Healer keychains (I took the keychain part off of the Maker one, though). I also have a little Mercury that was part of a keychain (flat, though) and a Chibi Moon figurine...all of them hang out in my backpack. So when I go to Japanese class at the university, I have a bunch of anime characters with me!

What's interesting is that for all but the two Starlights and Mercury, all of them have some part of their body that fell off.
Moon: missing a pigtail
Mars, Venus, Jupiter: missing an arm
Chibi Moon: I think she's missing an arm too.

Oh well, I still keep them in there...

The only Sailor Moon item I still have asdide from DVD's, comics, cd's and artbooks is a musical alarm clock...sort of a Super-deformed Sailor Moon that plays a loud, annoying version of "Moonlight Densetsu" and says "Good Morning" in English. I don't think it's an authorised item, but it still works after nearly 4 years...(I don't use it as an alarm clock, though...It's really annoying!)

Besides the anime and manga, I have the big and small versions of those ugly Bandai dolls of the inners and Moon long ago (I was around 13 or so). Also the small Beryl doll and Chibi Moon. I never got the outers because when I was collecting the dolls, I didn't know much about the outer senshi. So I kinda just ignored them.

I also have some trading cards, a Luna keychain that came with the Chibi Moon doll, and a Sailor Mars keychain. I also have two posters (an S poster of the inners, Moon, Tuxedo, Uranus and Neptune, and one with the outers minus Saturn), the first two dub soundtracks, and one of the artbooks.

Are there any Chibi Chibi plushies out there?? I'd love to have one because she's like the cutest ever!!!

Yeah, those are the kind of dolls I was talking about, where all five girls had boots that looked like Sailormoon's(and Mercury's). The last time I ever saw any 6 inch Sailor Moon dolls was at the local comic book store in my area's first location, which was years ago. The dolls were 12.00 each though, and I couldn't afford them, since my allowance had been spent. Since then, the comic book store has moved, and the only Sailor Moon doll they had there was a Bandai Japan Sailor Mars doll, but I managed to get it. I've noticed that in merchandise, Sailor Saturn seems to get the shaft a lot. There's not that much dolls of her in Japan, and the only American doll made of her was by Irwin, but no 6" version to go along with it. There's not that much plushies or chibi figures of her either..
In response to LadyflameSniper's question about Chibi Chibi plushies, I don't think there's any actual ones released commercially, but if you don't mind custom made items, you could try SetsunaKou's specialty shoppe, they make custom plushies, as well as custom Chibichibi dolls, so as far as I know, that's the only place where I've seen a Chibichibi plushie..

I have lots of Sailor Moon items.

Too many to list...

My rarest items have to be my Sailor Moon Shampoo, a Sera Myuu doll set, and Sailor Moon Cola!

There's too much Sailor Moon merchandise and there's a bunch I wouldn't mind having. Unfortunately I can't justify the price or find them anywhere. The only things I still have are...

-Sailor Moon Season 1 uncut DVD set
-Sailor Moon Season 2 uncut DVD set
-all 6 volumes of Sailor Moon S of DVD
-the imported Sailor Moon Memorial Music Box cd set
-the Mixx/Tokyopop versions of the manga, volumes 1-4, 6, all 4 of SuperS, and 1-2 of Stars
-the original 5 deluxe Irwin Sailor Moon adventure dolls
-2 wallscrolls, 1 US one from the original season (has Usagi transformed into a real sailor) and 1 Japanese one from S (has everyone, including Tuxedo Mask, except Pluto and Saturn, sitting together - Chibiusa is NOT transformed for some reason)
-Canadian Sailor Moon S figures of Super Sailor Moon, Chibi Moon, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune
-chibi figures of Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Tuxedo Mask

I used to have a ton more stuff. I kinda wish I still had it.

Speaking of merchandise

Post by wsleigh » Sun Feb 08, 2004 2:26 pm

I was wondering if any of you bought the ADV videos (not the DVDs). There is a poster in one and 11 collector cards in another, both from the Original series. What did they look like?

It was a poor quality poster. The poster was pink and it had a big version of Sailor Moon on the top and small (not chibis) heads of the other senshi, plus Tuxedo Kamen on the bottom. Then at the very bottom, there's copyright info and the DiC and ADV logos. This one was found in the box called "Trials and troubles" I think. It had the Last four english episodes of season one on it. I bought two other tapes that I sent to my Japanese and Korean pen pals to show them how much the series was butchured here. (My VCR doesn't work) Never again will I buy one of these.

well I suppose if we're going to list merchandise we have..:

7 posters, 1 hard-back poster, 1 wall scroll, 1 mini wall scroll, all of the inners, chibiusa, haruka, pluto, black lady, and super sailor moon bandai dolls, tiny princess serenity irwin doll, mercury irwin doll, sailor saturn resin model (my precious baby *_*), two different senshi sets of miniature japanese models (the kind that come in the capsules and you put them together), coffee mug, cd holder, mercury pen, two moon notebooks, sailor moon bank, sailor moon lunchbox, two sticker books, one necklace-notebook, eternal sm alarm clock, package of erasers, two decks of playing cards, toy brooch (the pink one), toy sceptor (from R), SM roleplaying game (with the cards and the weird stone thingies), photo abulm/address book, sailor venus socks, all of the inner plushies, all of the outer plushies except saturn, the two cat plushies, 2 "new" japanese plushies (moon and mercury), inners and endymion super deformed keychains, inners flat keychains, two pins, lunarock cd, sounds from the tv series cd, all of the pocket mixx manga except for a few SuperS, all of the first season comic-book style manga, silver bracelet watch, small ring watch, and two backpacks.

...I think that's it ^^; that's not counting DVDs or tapes, becuase most of them are fansubbed, and those aren't merchandise.

Here's something that I miss:

'Gumball Machine' Cards: You pop in a quarter or two, turn the crank, and get a card (collect all 70 or so!). This was back in the day of my SM n00bishness (hehe), so I took for granted lots of the information on them, which was drawn from the DiC dub. The art was pretty good, however, and there were some chase, foil-like cards that upped the incentive-factor a notch. I never did finish getting them all, however, since the machines were taken away soon after the SM craze had died down. Oh well.
