Diana's English voice just annoys the hell out of me. She'd be much cuter without it. I hate "fake high-pitched" voices. It makes her hard to understand and does NOT make her sound like a child at all. Cream or Cheese (the stupid rabbit) from Sonic X is the same way. They'd both be freakin' adorable if it weren't for their voices. I've never heard her Japanese VA, but it's gotta be better than that. As for which cat is my favorite...Artemis is much funnier, it seems. I really like his NA VA, the voice adds a nice comedic touch. Luna's accent made her difficult to understand at times, so I think a lot of her jokes got lost.

Cream's Japanese voice is a hundred times better than her English voice. She sounds so darn cute, but her English voice annoys me to no end, as does Diana's (though I don't even like her Japanese voice, either).

Luna's my favourite because she's so normal. Luna acts just like the girls. She can be ditzy at times, and she falls in love. She's just as much of a klutz as Usagi is, and she's hilarious. Next, comes Diana, cause she's just so darn cute! Artemis is last for me because he gets on my nerves. He always seems to be thinking of senshi business, and what the senshi should and shouldn't do. For instance, after Usagi awakens as the princess, and Tuxedo Kamen is taken, Artemis keeps bugging Usagi about acting more like a princess, while everyone else including Luna wants to give her time.

Luna has to be my favorite, she acts like normal human girl when she's not in guardian mode. Artemis next because he can make some really nice cracks about the girls. Plus he gets points since his live action counterpart is voiced by the same guy who plays inny-chan! Diana last because even though she was adorible, she didn't really have a point except to be adorible and be the temporary guard of the Gates of Time in the black moon arc of the manga.

That's Inuyasha, right? You mean Yamagauchi Kappei plays Artemis in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon? Somehow, I'm not surprised.

The Cats!

Post by Hino_Rei552 » Tue Feb 24, 2004 9:41 pm

My opinions-

My favorite: Artemis. He's just so adorable. He's the cutest of the cats! And he's got the best lines of anyone in the series (in my opinion.) (BTW, I'm talking about the dub [only one I've seen]). He's got a great voice, too. And his devotion to Luna is so SWEET!!

Second favorite: Luna. I hate her voice in the dub (*coughbritishcough*) but I love her character. She's always bugging Serena, and somehow it's comical.

Third favorite: Diana. The only reason she's in third is because I haven't seen her in any episodes. I have read manga acts with her, though. She is soooo cute. And I love it when she offers to guard the time door for Pluto ("I may be small, but I'm better than nothing!")

What do you guys think?

I think I'll go with Luna. It's kind of unfair but she had the most screentime of all them kittys so she got a lot more chances to be funny and passes with me.

Artimes, Human Artimes my favorite it's the way he comes across lolay to Luna and his whole chater that makes me like him the most ( taht and his human form don't look to bad)

Diana: She put to one side on the anime she has such a middle sized role in the manga's it's not fair.

Luna: Same as Artimes only reveresd and no commnet about the human version apart fomr the fact she was the only one to be human in the anime.

And have to ask this what's wrong wiht her Britsih voice is it beucase she sound old or because it's British? (
The Doctor: What''''s the use of a good quotation if you can''''t change it?

[referring back to Ace''''s earlier, rather transparent denial of packing Nitro-9]
The Seventh Doctor: Ace, give me some of that Nitro-9 you''''re not carrying.

The Seventh Doctor: [the Doctor is knelt coughing on the ground having blown up a Dalek with some nitro-9 explosive. The fuse had a shorter time on it than Ace told him] Ace! You said ten seconds.
Ace: Nobody''''s perfect Professor

1) Becuase she sounds old.
2) There was NO REASON to make her sound British. None at all.
3) It makes her sound ridiculously uptight. I'm sorry, Em, but that person's voice completely changes (and ruins, IMO) Luna's character. She's upbeat, funny, and damn cute in the original. In the dub, she's a stuffy old lady who does nothign but lecture.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I could've sworn there was already a topic about the cats....

Anyway yeah Luna's dub voice is terrible. It's not so much the British accent, but she sounds very old. Around 60. It was especially bad in the S movie where she becomes human and is very youthful looking. It didn't fit her at all.

When I first saw a clip from Stars, while still under the Dub influence, I couldn't see Luna too well, and I heard this voice that was like Usagi's, and I couldn't figure out who it was O_o

I did like the Luna Granny voice more than some Lizzie McGuire (however it is spelt) voice saying "LIke, ooooh my God! I'm sooooo your guardian kitty. Me-Ow!"

For the cats of which I like most:

Luna must be my favourite. She had to raise 4 senshi on her own, and lets face it, Usagi is probably the hardest person to work with. And then gathering them, and then finding out Artemis was in a video game -___-

Artemis was OK. He found V-Babe, so he gets some points. And he is so silly and cute, I just wish I had a cat like that. He had more purpose in the manga, like when he turned human (mighty FINE human, might I add).

Diana is...just there to be cute. No real purpose IMO except to help Chibi-Usa to pick up boys by candy stores (SS movie  ) I mean, she really didn't help Chibi-Usa to become a princess, or senshi, that she looks 5 when she is 902 or something.

Luna's my favorite. She's just so adorable and funny. And smart. I agree with everyone else on her dub voice, though--it's horrid. While Molly's voice and Rini's first voice are at least entertaining (in a "God, that's so out of character" way), Luna's is just dumb.

I'm sure Jill Frappier is a good voice actress, but her voice just didn't suit Luna at all.

As for Artemis and Diana, I like them too. Especially in the manga--they're adorable! I like Diana's line, "Artemis looks at Mina(ko) like she's his long-lost lover." (Sorry, I only have the translated manga.)

I especially love Luna and Artemis's story when Luna falls in love with Kakeru. It's so sweet. =^^=

Grrr...that's one of the reasons I like Artemis more than Luna. BECAUSE ARTEMIS DOESN'T GET CRUSHES ON HUMANS!! For god's sake!! For one thing, Yaten's mine. ^_^

Well, there's a reason why dub Luna sounds 60. Jill Frappier, her voice in the dub, IS over 60! She's even a grandma. This is probably why I'm much more tolerant to her dub voice than most (read:ALL) people are. Besides, what would she sound like without the accent, anyway? Cloverway Amy? Yeah, because we all know how much everyone LOVED that voice :P

1) She shouldn't be british TO BEGIN WITH.
2) So should I tolerate the voice simply becuase her actress is an old woman? Um, no. It's still a horrid voice for Luna. It simply DOESN'T FIT HER.

Yep Luna Britsih = No, no, no

I agree with everyone on what you say about Luna VA

I was asking on what Hino meant by coughbritsihcough

Anyway fomr what I've seen English Artimes and Oraganil Artimes sound quite close and don't bother me that much.

Actually, I somewhat agree, in that the English accent is stereotypical for Luna. If they were going to give her an accent, they should give her one not associated with authority figures.
