Did Mamoru go back?(Spoilers!)

I just finished watching Sailor Moon Sailor Stars last night, (Greatest. Season. Ever.) and Usagi and Mamoru kissed at the end.

It left me wondering, "Did Mamoru eventually go to the U.S. and leave Usagi alone again? And if he did, what was his excuse about him not being earlier?"

Well in the manga, apparantly Usagi and Mamoru get married at the end of the manga, so maybe not. But we're never actually told.[/spoiler]

Since I love Mamoru, I would love to imagine Mamoru and Usagi buying a house together! Also, the time it was due at Harvard may have expired. Usagi and Mamoru are my favorite couple so I'd love for it to be that they got married shortly after Stars, since they are together in all the seasons and are my favorite couple. I love how Usagi and Mamoru are together in every season and how they always see each other, so I hope he stays in Japan and they buy a house together. Since he proposed to her at the beginning, I think he stays with Usagi's family and they plan the wedding soon and move in together, since they've been a couple for a very long time I think Usagi's dad will allow it, since they've been together for so many years and they're my favorite couple so I hope so. I don't know what happened to the Harvard scholarship, if it expires or something. I always wondered what happned next. That would be interesting to write about.

Well, I would think not, since Mamoru DID die and come back...I know that if I did, college would be the last thing on my mind x_X; that, and Harvard probably assumed he was dead if they heard that plane exploded, so I doubt walking up and going "HEY I'M ALIVE TAKE ME I SURVIVED AN EXPLODING PLANE CUZ MY GIRLFRIEND RESURRECTED ME! YAY! " would have been the best idea.

very unlikly. Plane explosion, no one has a parachute ready for something that comes out of nowhere. Would anyone who dosen't know the whole story even consider their sanity after seeing him?

I do think they should tell the college that they are alive. I sure would want the college to know I am alive.

Well, when you consider the circumstances, i'd probably do the same thing. I'd want to re-assess my life, considering I already lost it once, spend time with my loved ones, and gather my wits and sanity again.

I don't think Mamoru went back. After he just died and came back to life, I'd hope he'd want to save Usagi anymore anguish by leaving again. He probably had more important things on his mind. I don't think they get married right away though, since Usagi is only 16 at that point and in the manga [spoiler]when they get married, Usagi is pregnant with Chibi Usa. The Queen gave birth to Chibi Usa when she was 22, so that indicates some time passed between the defeat of Chaos and the wedding.[/spoiler]

I think they WERE going to get married soon in the anime (which has a different plot than the manga anyway). He gave Usagi an engagement ring, and she's bound to find out what it is sometime--she can't be clueless about that kind of thing forever! This is probably what they say after the kiss that's shown at the very end of the anime:
Usagi: Umm, Mamo-chan, I have a question. Why did my friends and Luna get so excited over the ring you gave me?
Mamoru: Usako, it's our engagement ring.
Usagi: Oh, MAMO-CHAN!!! (glomps him, they start to kiss again and Chibi-Usa-sama falls out of the sky and crashes on Usagi)
Usagi: Not again....Owwwww....
(about 9 Sailor Senshi jump out of the sky too)
Chibi-Usa-sama: Hi, Usagi and Mamo-chan! Here are all the other Senshi's kids from the future! They want to train here too!

Just kidding about the future Senshi and Chibi-Usa-sama appearing, of course.

Once? He died twice in the first season, AND was reincarnated from his life as Prince Endymion ^^;;

But in all seriousness, he'd probably apply somewhere in Japan so that he could be with Usagi. We don't know how far-reaching of an effect Galaxia's action had, however; if the whole world probably found out about it, they might know that the people 'killed' in the plane crash were reincarnated and thus, Mamoru explaining what happened wouldn't be as difficult as it could be.

Heh, that's a funny image to think of..I myself couldn't really see Mamoru going back to America, heck, he's been through enough, and I think he would've finally taken a long overdue break. Plus, he'd have to come up with an explanation to the college on why he was mysteriously "missing" for so long after the plane never arrived in America. And if Mamo did decide to go to college again, he probably would've stayed at one in Japan. I think after the whole Galaxia incident in the anime, Mamoru probably would've warmed up to Usagi a bit more, considering she was the one who'd saved his butt when he wasn't saving hers, that is..

With the ending of the anime not really leaving much clarity on the future of things, it's hard to really say how or what will end up happening. My guess is that Mamoru will likely continue his studies at a nearby university and continue to dating Usagi. After a couple years they'll begin wedding plans and get married and the whole Crystal Tokyo thing should be shortly thereafter. (or whenever it does take place) It's not likely that he'll actually go to the US again. I mean, the time that the slot would be open is already expired. It would be another who knows how long till it would be open again and by that time he could have finished more of his studies at home.

I like the manga's ending. Seeing everyone happy and celebrating just is a fitting way to send off the series. And on another note, in the manga it was cute to see Mamoru giving Usagi the ring and then starting to propose. It's such a beautiful ring! *why do villians always have to ruin the cute moments?*

I think in the anime Crystal Tokyo is founded after a meteor hits the earth and freezes it, or that's what the future King Endymion showed everyone.

I believe he was going to Harvard to become a doctor and also to "perform experiments" according to Usagi.
