Well, if there were 6 episodes per disk on 8 DVDs, then that means there would be 12 episodes per disk on 4 DVDs, so that means: 4000 devided by 12 = around 333.

Yeah, they'd be WAY worse quality. I personally don't think the quality is that bad, especially compared to the SuperS DVDs, which are not by ADV.

Where do you get the number 4000 from? I can't really respond to that since to me it's a number pulled out of thin air and I can't figure out where it came from with any calculations I can think of right now.

......That tells me nothing still, what's the significance on the numbers? How did you determine which numbers to use? etc. You claim that these bootlegs would be of much worse quality, but are pulling seemingly imaginary numbers out of the sky to fuel your point, which doesn't do anything for it. You leave no room for discussion or anything, give me reasons why you think the way you do, not random unlabled numbers out of the sky.

Sorry...I'm not about to try to explain it...because if you don't understand the concept of them having to be reduced quality, than you obviously don't know as much as I do about DVD VOB data fuctions, bit stream protocols, and the like. No offense, really. It's just to me it's to the point where a question like this would be like asking "how do you figure ignighting a gas tank will cause an explosion?"...seriously.

However I don't expect everyone to know these things...I just lack what it takes to explain them, which is why I could never be a teacher.

ADMIN MODE:

Excuse me. That is so completely rude, and NOT the way to respond to anybody on this forum.

You don't want to explain it? Then don't post on the subject. And the sarcastic bit about the gas tank was just uncalled for.

Refrain from posting things like this if you're too superior and/or clueless about how to explain them. And don't respond that rudely to anybody (especially an admin) again.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

.....Um, if I don't understand the concept of quality having to be reduced, then explain how I made the post I did a few posts up. I distinctly said that the ADV discs use only about 2GB more space than a single layer does. So in order for the content of one ADV disc to fit only on a single layer, the data bitrate doesn't have to be drastically changed with over two hours of content. So two ADV discs can be reduced down to fit into each having its own layer of a DVD9. Maybe I don't know excat numbers and functions and all that jazz, but I was making a general assumption based on data I did know, not a complete technical analysis of DVDs. Next time fully read a post before responding, and if you feel you're too above everyone to explain things, then don't bother. There was no need for that rudeness.

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic and/or rude at all...seriously, I wasn't. I guess I can see how you'd make an assumption like this, but it's an incorrect assumption. I've never been rude to anyone on this board, so I'd like it if you didn't jump to conclusions about me, please and thank you.

And once again, I told you, it's not that I don't want to explain, but rather that I am inable to.

You are being warned. Once again, you've come off as rude to an admin. The little smilies don't make your post any less rude. I wasn't the only one who found your previous post to MarioKnight to be rude and uncalled for..he himself agreed.

Do not post in this fashion again. Last warning.

Ok...but I seriously haven't a clue how you're defining rude...or maybe I'm just extremely ignorant...

I'll try my best to not do certain things...although, I don't know how to do that, seeing as I wasn't being rude in the first place and fail to find anything rude in my post...but you're the admin who can do what you want, and call someone rude simply because of...whatever reason, and I actually think you're being rude in a sense by "warning" me when I've done nothing but responded to someone else's post in an attempt to explain myself. But y'know what? You're right reguardless, because you've got the power.

But believe me, I'm never rude to people (not saying I'm perfect either), and if I come off as rude, it's definitely not intentional. :?

ADMIN MODE:

Here. Let me spell it out for you. Your condescending attitude is totally uncalled for. Nobody is making any assumptions about you. The fact is, you ARE being rude. Just because you didn't intend it to be doesn't change the fact that it was rude. You really need to practice TACT when posting. Instead of acting "holier than thou", you could have just said "Oh, sorry, it's a really technical thing about DVDs that I know about that I have no idea how to explain, i'm not good at explaining stuff."

Now, your comments in your MIDDLE PARAGRAPH in your LATEST POST in THIS THREAD (sorry, I felt I needed to spell it out for you) was COMPLETELY rude and TOTALLY uncalled for and against our board rules. You are temporarily banned until January 15th.

BACK ON TOPIC.

Um...the last related post for this discussion was:
MarioKnight wrote:Though I'm still suprised that no one has used the R2s as sources for making bootlegs or anything of the sort.
I doubt they would ever use the R2s since a much cheaper alternative is available. To be honest, I actually want them to release subbed DVDs using R2 since I cannot afford the R2 and the fact that they don't have subs. :( But oh well, can't have everything I want in this world, can I? I wonder when the DVDs will drop in price like the VHS and VCDs did?

I own the Sailor moon r Movie on VCD and it's really good quality, which i found shocking because Usually VCDs are bad quality.
