Suggestive Dub Lines

While the Japanese version has many one-liners intended to be funny and are, the dub has some very... err... suggestive lines that make you wonder why DiC made all these cuts, if they added suggestive dialouge that wasn't there in the first place. For example,

"I watched while you changed.",

"You watched me change?"

"I'll show you mine, now you show me yours."

This line gets me everytime. Back in 1995, when I was a kid, I, of course, thought they were talking about the crystals. Now when I re-watch it, yes, while the Japanese version fan-subbed is my favorite, I rewatch the dub, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Anyway, DiC seems to have been watching some suggestive movies, because putting this line in isn't even subtle. In the Japanese version, the scene does not say anything like that. I like how they add humor in, but it's funny since DiC makes all these cuts and censors, and adds these kinds of lines in.

The word "bimbo" is also used a lot in the DiC episodes. In the Japanese version, similar words were used, but the DiC version uses bimbo all the time. If they were so worried about kids emulating behavior, didn't they think parents would complain about their children using the word bimbo all the time? Also, the word puberty is used, putting parents in uncomfortable positions when asked what the word puberty means.

Feel free to comment on some suggestive dub lines that, while very suggestive in the dub, weren't suggestive in the Japanese version, which is wonderful, and entertaining to compare both versions.

I have no problem with this line, except it's coming from a little eight year old girl, whom, may I remind you, really doesn't know what love is, nor should make statements like that to boys she's just met.

Oh, and let's not forget the overall ''incest'' fest Clove gaves us with Michiriu and Hakura. I still cringe everytime I hear the world cousin coming from them.

They use the word "trashy" a lot! Especially Rini if you tink about it... trashy tart... rashy has been... hmmm wonder what Chibi-usa would think about that?

In the latter half of dub episode 40 Day of Destiny (or original episode 46), Sailor Moon is holding out a locket to Prince Darien and she says "Oh, all you have to do is touch it!" and when Darien touches it, the actor makes it sound JUST like he's having an orgasm ... that scene is hilarious to watch in English. In the original version, I think Sailor Moon just says "Please..." and while Endymion does scream it doesn't sound like he's having an orgasm -.-;;

I love the voice acting in that scene. I always loved that wonderful locket scene in both the Japanese and English versions. I always love the scene so much. It's so emotional. I love Toby Proctor's voice acting. I am a huge fan of is voice acting. I love Mamoru and I love Darien. I always love the emotion in that scene. The way it's done is so wonderful in both versions. I love the voice acting in that scene in both versions, they did a really great job with the character's emotions in both. Oh I would like to mention I love Tuxedo Mask and I love Tuxedo Kamen. He is my favorite male anime character ever. I love Mamoru/Darien. I love all of his forms. I love both the Japanese and English versions of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. The Japanese version is my favorite. I love both versions.

Sailor Moon: Two things:
1) do not post twice in a row. We have an edit button if you want to add something.
2) Do not constantly repeat yourself or post something irrelevant to the topic. We don't need to know 10 times that you love Toby Proctor or both versions of SM. We know by now.

The only one I can remeber right now is from the SMR movie.

Its in the uncut dubbed version, it the scene where Usagi's henshin goes 'undone' and you see the back of Usagi as the ribbons go all over the place (complete with buttshot!)

Well for the JP version, Usagi just makes this 'ugh!' kinda sound, almost like a scream. But in the dub version, I swear Terri Hawks made it sound SO wrong. Like 'Serena' was in pleasure or something Oo

Dinozore, i'm sure she and just about everyone else knows what it's referring to. The point is whether or not it sounded suggestive, and that she WANTED to take it out of context, as she pointed out. Don't come in here and rain on everybody's parade, please. All they're doing is having fun with it.

Speaking of the incest-fest, what about the manager in of the SuperS episodes? The one were Fisheye reveals what's under the cloths. His lover was now his own brother. Looks like Cloverway has incest-perverts.

Naw, Cloverway just thinks that it's more acceptable for relatives to act lovey with each other than unrelated people of the same gender. Some people (like me) DO hug their cousins, and not in a sexual way.
