Exactly, ParaKiss...like it or not, there ARE people out there who are opposed to homosexuality and the like, and we can't expect them to support it just becuase the sailor moon fanbase does. These are REAL opinions from REAL people, and we also cannot expect them to match the opinions of ours. These are Christians who follow certain beliefs and believe in certain things, and it shouldn't surprise us one bit that they think these things of the show. I saw quite a few positives in the article, and it amazes me that this group is so determined to point out the bad.

The first article wouldn't have been so funny if the person hadn't made so many mistakes.

I don't mind that people find some things offensive in Sailor Moon, because I know a lot of people do. (I'm Catholic in theory and don't have a problem with it) But all the mistakes and stupidity on that page made it hard for me to take anything seriously.
I am a loser!

In my opinion, for a source to be informative, the information that they are providing needs to be accurate. The opinions were interesting, but without the facts to back them up, it isn't as credible a source as it claims to be.

Okay, I just clicked on the link, and all I can sum up is "WHAT THE?"
Really, I mean, these people are just plain "out there", IMO. Are you sure it's not a parody site? I mean it looks genuine, but at the same time, it seems to be just a bunch of oddballs that don't have any actual knowledge of anime itself that are making all of these odd "facts" about it. And I thought CAPalert was strange..I mean, after seeing this and CAPalert's reviews on "Shrek", "Monty Python", and the South Park movie, I wonder how these people would review the entire show of Sailormoon, not counting the dubs, but the original..I could just imagine all the problems these people would pick at..*sighs* I've tried to respect religions as a whole, and have no problem with Christians, but small groups like these are just so "out there", really. "Michiru and Hichiru?" Please, if you're going to say something bad about Sailormoon, get your facts straight, please!

Oh....my.....holy.....monkeys. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!

1) While the 3rd season may be based a bit on christianity (Messiah, Holy Grail, things like that) no season of Sailor Moon was ever truely based on religion.

2) It says DiC cut out "Serena kicking her brother Sammy because it was too violent" shows they probably only got internet info and never watched the show. This is supposed to be first season, and never in the first season does Usagi kick Shingo. Since they're talking about the first episode, she kicks the door, not her brother. I've only watched season 1-4, and never, to my knowledge, does Usagi EVER EVER EVER kick Shingo.

3) Not reccomended to kids, eh? Well, golly, I WAS wondering why on laserdiscs and reading the manga and the like are rated 13+. I mean with Anime, while not always, is generally pointed towards teenagers, I wonder why it's not! *Sarcasm meter explodes*

To tell everone the truth, I skimmed and stopped reading after that "Serena kicks Sammy" comment. There's my rant on that piece of BS, and have a nice day everyone!

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

There is a picture where at least some of the Inner Senshi are wearing crosses, however, the picture is definitely not an anime screenshot. It's probably from an anime artbook...and there IS one with all the Inners wearing crosses done for the manga. I've heard that crosses are supposed to look "cool" in Japan. The only character I can think of who wears a cross in the anime is Haruka, as I said. (of course, since I don't pay that much attention to what the characters wear, I might be wrong)

Nephlyte, a "bad guy" consults the power of stars for help to destroy sailor moon, but of course he is evil, and in the end loses.
Of course. lmao. Sorry, I just thought that quote was really, really funny. I don't think it would have mattered WHAT he consulted, he was the badguy, and all badguys are slated to lose. The moral: don't consult the stars. You'll lose. And apparently, everyone else knows that.

The absolutely only problem I had (other than a lack of reaserch for some people) was the Avoid people who's only reasons were homosexuality and crossdressing and what not. I respect their right to base their opinions off of things that don't effect them in the slightest, but these are probably the same people that want it baned from ever being seen again by anyone and it REALLY pisses me off. However, I agree that the unedited version isn't for children (it's kinda violent and might just confuse them).

There are several artbook images of usagi wearing crosses, but that's about it, I believe.

No, Usagi never wore a cross in the anime, and therefore, DiC never edited one out. I suppose they failed to point out that Usagi interacts with a MINISTER -_-

If you've seen the sub you'll see that in episode 5, which is about the Schanera, which are scented animals that steal your energy, Shingo (Sammy if you may) gets one and while he's posessed by it he kicks LUNA not USAGI... Those people are so stupid.. They've gotta losen up a little. Its FANTASY!!! They should also do their research better... Sheesh that article disturbed me... ><

That's going a bit too far. First of all, how do you characterize "overworshipping christians"? Many people on here could be offended by that. I know people who are heavily, heavily into their religion, and don't have a problem with anime.
And people have a right to avoid these shows if they want. I avoid Pokemon becuase I think it's pretty stupid. But why do I get off okay with avoiding it for my reason, and yet someone else gets berated for avoiding it becuase they don't agree with the content?

It just sickens me that so many people seem to think these people aren't entitled to their opinions.

I have nothing against these people for expressing their opinions, and I don't understand why some think it fit to criticize these people for merely expressing what they believe to be true. Certainly the many inaccuracies irk me a little, and I wish people (on any topic) would do a bit of research before they formed such a solid opinion, but it is their opinion nonetheless.
I am a Christian (though I'm sure some Christians would question me on that) and I never had a problem with Sailor Moon, or any other Anime, but I respect the fact that a lot of Christians may not want their children exposed to some of the elements therein.

I agree, somewhat. I'm sorry if I sounded offensive to you or any Christians on the board, I tend to look down on religious people (and I know I shouldn't). I know they're entitled to their opinions, but I can still think some of their inaccuracies about the show were funny/stupid. (I actually laughed when I saw the thing about Raye and Serena fighting over their religions) And Parakiss Groupie is correct too...at least they didn't say anything about satanism; the accusations were about paganism and homosexuality, both of which would be counter to the Christian doctrine.
