Hi, I'm new here though I've been visiting the site for a long time. :) Great resource!

Anyway, this ad appeared in Japan's TV guide about two weeks ago. I almost had a near-death experience when I saw it since I'm not a big fan of the new live action SM. But I know a lot of you are, so thought I'd share it with you. :)

The interesting thing though is that in the cast listing near the bottom, also appearing will be the three Sailor Starlights, Sailor Galaxia and her minions (Sailor Iron Mouse, etc), Queen Beryl and her minions (Jediete, etc.), the Starlight's Princess (Fireball?), and of course, Tuxedo Mask. That's quite a lot of people on one stage, and a lot to squeeze into one hour. ^^; Never heard of the Starlights on stage, wonder how they're going to do the gender changing?

That picture is bitchin'. I love their costumes and hair (except Chibi Chibi, she looks weird for some reason 0___o ). But what is it for exactly? The live action show or the musicals?

It's for the musicals. (Thank God the TV show's costumes don't look like that).

I'm almost certain that is a image from the Musical. The costuming for the series is much more toned down and made under a tight budget (that is why I love it so much).
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I personally like the costumes, especially Saturn's. You have to remember, that these costumes look big, gaudy, and shiney because they're meant to be seen by a large audience from stage. The costumes in the TV show aren't like because there's no need for them to be, and, as Tempy said, it's a smaller budget.
I saw two of the musicals (a friend and I rented them from Japantown in San Francisco), and they're quite cute. A bit strange at times, but cute nonetheless. It was raw, so we have no idea what was going on, really, but they were fun to watch.

And I think chibi-chibi is just plain adorable. She probably looks weird becuase she's older than you'd expect, but that's what they had to do for the girl to preform. She sounds adorable when she sings.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I know the costumes need to look that way so the audience can see them. But I still think they're ugly. I thought Chibi Chibi was the cutest one in the picture.

I hope that this is the end of Seramyu... It hasn't been really fresh or exciting since Miyuki left. Marina was OK, but she never grew into her Moon role like ANZA or Mikyuki, even Fumina, for the short time she was Moon. But it's like, the whole stage is leacving, and unlike the Final First Stage, I could care less. The only senshi in the cast I'm attached to is Yuuko (anyone that's heard Forbidden Hades should know why)

I just hope either the Myu end, or they take a year off, get some older (or more talented AND dedicated (seriously, some of these girls stay for 1 show and that's it)) actors and actresses.

I seriously doubt it will end soon. I would just rather for them to take a year off then end. That's just me, though.

XD; I figured that's what it was. It threw me off the first time I saw her, too, but she melted my heart when she sang.

Wow, you guys know a lot more than me. ^^

I dropped by the website advertised with the ad (sailormoon.channel.or.jp - insanely cute flash there, btw), and it looks like they have two shows every year since 93. Good God! I guess they are making money and selling out each time even at 60 bucks a seat. I wonder if it's like a Morning Musume crowd of old men, I'm sure Hitoshi Doi will be there. ^^; I mean, even if you like the concept, would you pay $60 to see it?

I also caught the TV commercial yesterday, and it's just a little freaky with all the senshi, with their conflicting personalities, suddenly singing and waving their arms in unison. I guess I've always had a hard time suspending my belief with musicals.

Hmm, I haven't watched SM in awhile but I *think* . . .
[SPOILER]
.
.
.
.
. . . all the senshi go Super in either SuperS or Stars, so could that explain the more elaborate costumes compared to the tv show? On the site, I found a picture of the first musical and their costumes look much more plain.

And what is a "Second Stage Final" anyway?

Well, I used to believe the term 'Stage' meant that for every new Moon, we have a new 'Stage.' But by that method, this should be the 'Fourth Stage Final.' So I can no longer answer that question 100%, but I know that when the 'Final First Stage' happened, all the senshi were recast, including Moon. So I can only assume that they are doing the same here, and in a month or 2 we'll be treated with a new Moon, and new senshi.
