Rei's Accent...?

Watching through the "Starlight Tower" episode, I noticed that Rei says Usagi's name with a cute, nasal twang to it. Is this an accent the VA has, or something they added to the character? If the former, from what region is the accent?

Maybe she has trouble saying Usagi's name, as least to me she does.

Which version are you watching? The American dub, the original Japanese show, or someone's fandub?

If it's the original, maybe Rei's voice actress was trying to sound like Luna, who has a nasal voice. Rei is kind of like Luna in some ways, too.

No, it's the original...Rei has this funny way of saying something like "U-sa-ngi", i.e., a really soft, nasal "g" rather than a hard one like the others. I find it adorable, personally ^^;

Different parts of Tokyo have different dialects. Rei's accent is based upon where she lives or where she's from.
I love the way she says Usagi ^^ "Us-a-nii"

*grin* I can do dead-on Tomizawa Michie. I'm not sure what dialect this is, but I've noticed this with all of Tomizawa's characters. It's not a Rei thing; this is the way she plays them all.

Personally I love it when Rei calls Usagi's during the first movie when Usagi and Chibiusa crash through the window. She drags out the "gi" and it sorta rises in pitch as she says it. I always imitate it and over-exaggerate it to make it sound all opera-y.
