Want to know about the actual Sailor Earth?

Post by Bunny_2004 » Sat Dec 20, 2003 7:17 pm

:D many people are wondering why there was no Sailor Earth. I used to believe that Tuxedo Mask filled in for the "forgotten Scout" but I now have evidence of Darien's Sister. I'll make a link on my site when I get the chance on this topic.
Oh and if you check out my sight and it doesn't work try later.

Ummm... I'll believe it when I see it (which I'm confident I won't). Perhaps you could explain right here in this thread.

Didn't the anime mention Tuxedo Kamen was the guardian of the Earth in the episode where he's speaking with Helios?

Not to mention he is shown to have a Sailor Crystal in the final manga arc. Really, why would Naoko make a Sailoe Earth? To not put it in her manga?

Actually, Sailor Saturn can be viewed as somewhat of ''Sailor Earth'', not that it takes anything of what she represents.

Doesn't her name mean ''Earth Spouting Firefly''? If so, then there's your ansewer. Now, I'm not saying she is a ''Sailor Earth'', but the fact she can be viewed as it. Besides, Saturn can destroy and recreate the world. Eh, sorry if I gave some twisted information. I've yet to see ''S'' uncut.

I thought Tomoe Hotaru meant "FireFly of Death"?
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Well, looking at ''The Senshi Page'' it pretty much says it different.

Oh! I wasn't trying to sound difficult or doubt you, it's just I've always read it meant "FireFly of Death". That was the first time I've seen it mean anything else.

I've NEVER heard "Firefly of Death". In fact, I know it's NOT that, because then her name would be "Hotaru Shino" because "shi" means death. "To" or "Do" means Earth, and I don't know what moe means. But I do know that "Do" means Earth because I just learned that in Japanese class this semester, and the Japanese word for Saturn, "Dosei," means Earth-Star. "Earth" here means the dirt and nature, not the planet itself. So Sailor Saturn could somewhat be "Sailor Earth" meaning the element but not the planet.

Another place "Earth" is meant as an element and not a planet is in astrology.

Now, I do know that Sailor Saturn's powers don't have to do with Earth at all. But I do know that's what her NAME has to do with, because the Senshi's names (except for Venus's because hers was created before Naoko thought up the other Senshi's names) are related to their planets.
Usagi Tsukino-Tsuki means moon
Ami Mizuno-Mizu and Sui both are different readings of the kanji that's in Ami's last name, and they both mean water. Suisei (Japanese for Mercury) means "Water-Star."
Rei Hino-Hi and Ka both are different readings of the kanji that's in Rei's last name, and they both mean fire. Kasei (Japanese for Mars) means "Fire-Star."
Makoto Kino-Ki and Moku both are different readings of the kanji that's in Makoto's last name, and they both mean wood/tree. Mokusei (Japanese for Jupiter) means "Wood-Star."
Hotaru Tomoe-To and Do both are different readings of the kanji that's in Hotaru's last name, and they both mean soil. Dosei (Japanese for Saturn) is "Earth/Soil-Star."
Haruka Tenou-Tenousei is Japanese for Uranus
Michiru Kaiou-Kaiousei is Japanese for Neptune
Setsuna Meiou-Meiousei is Japanese for Pluto

You can consult a Japanese dictionary about these things if you don't believe me.

Please, their is no need to get heated about this.
I used to go alot of small "cookie-cutter" Sailormoon sites back when I was first on the internet and they all had the same "meaning" on the stats. Considering I didn't, and still don't, know much Japanese I took the information as is. And since I saw it written on so many sites, I just assumed it was true. It's been about 6 years since I went on a information hunt, so I never corrected myself.
I meant no disrespect.

If I sounded "heated," I did not mean to seem that way. I was merely trying to clear up the confusion about what Hotaru's name means. I also wasn't trying to say that she is "Sailor Earth," I meant that her name has the kanji for soil in it, and not death.

Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.
