Really? I swear I saw a version where the she got older and died, it was on t.v. that way, but I could be wrong.

I know that in the *manga,* SuperS is much more similar to Sleeping Beauty than to Snow White (in fact, it's almost *too* much so). In the anime, I want to say that it is a little similar to Snow White, in that Nehelania wants to be young forever, but I don't much see the comparisions beyond that.
Also, usachan, the version of Snow White I have (by the Grimm Brothers), the wicked queen does have shoes put on her. But I wouldn't be surprised if you'd read/seen another version. Too many fairy tales have lots of variations. In fact, I have a version where the Wicked Queen gets her heart ripped out (but it's actually SNOW'S heart) and then whatever's behind the magic mirror takes her. But that's in Nightmares and Fairytales. :P

Really? Crazy!! Yeah, if I remember correctly the version I saw was on t.v. and was released with several other fairy tales, I thought they were accurate versions of the stories but I guess not.

Really? Crazy!!
Not to turn this into a chatroom, but yeah, it's pretty crazy. It's a retelling done in graphic-novel style by Serena Vallentino (sp?), in a collection called "Nightmares and Fairytales." The whole collection follows the story of a little doll named Annabelle as she goes thru her life passed from one person to another (she belonged to Snow briefly). Later on, she tells a little girl a version of Cinderella that's just as twisted. I recommend it to anyone who likes fairytales and can stand blood and gore and generally spooky stuff. [/offtopic]

OK, here's one that hit me today: in the manga, Tuxedo Kamen has this attack, Tuxedo la Smoking Bomber, and I've always thought there was something funny about that name, without ever realizing what it was. And then today it came to me at random: "smoking" and "bomber" are both types of men's jackets, and of course a jacket is a big part of a tuxedo.
Things I think Are Funny Early in the Morning: If Batman were a Smurf: "Quick, Robin! We must smurf down to the Batcave and smurf the Batplane! Then we must smurf the batsmurf so we can smurf where the Joker is smurfing!"

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I just noticed this last night, but why does it look like Usagi is blushing when she's transforming in front of Mamoru in episode 34, "Hikari kagayaku ginzuishou! Tsukino princess toujou"?

Cause she gets naked perhaps?

Errrm...I noticed that all 4 inner senshi's final attacks differ greatly in some way from their previous attacks...like they're main power has changed:

Mercury's Aqua Rasphody: More like a Neptune attack in the sense that its just a water blast without freezing invovled.

Mars' Flame Sniper: Weaponry is used...its more of a bow and arrow than actual fire.

Jupiter's Oak Evolution: Neon light embodied leaves...not lightning or "thunder" realated at all...and she uses the rod even still.

Venus' Love and Beauty Shock: It involves a heart...a spinning...heart...coin of doom.

Actually, I've noticed alot of crap...I just can't think of anything "useful" at the moment because its 12:30 am and I have Psychology at 9:00am. Meh.

EDIT: Holy crap its been awhile since I posted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Sailor Mars' bow and arrow actually made out of fire? Sailor Jupiter's element is actually wood, rather than lighting, so I don't see what the big deal is about her using a wood-based attack. What's so strange about Venus Love and Beauty Shock compared to Sailor Venus' chain of....hearts? o.O Her element is metal, so you could count the coin thing as metal...

While it's not really a "big deal," it *is* somewhat irritating because it is inconsistant with the rest of her attacks, regardless of what her element actually is. It bugs me when people say "well, her element *is* wood, so it makes sense," because to *me* it doesn't. If her element is wood, *all* of her attacks should have been wood! I know that her element is wood, it's just confusing 99% of her attacks have *nothing* to do with wood, and then at the end, it's like "here she is, throwing leaves! Her element is wood! It makes sense! Haha!"
Whoo, does that sound bitchy? It kind of does. I'm sorry, it's not meant to be read that way, I guess I never realized how much I didn't like her oak attack.

Sweetie...the leaves are ELECTRIFIED. What do you think the "glowing" or "Neon" part is?

Here are some sources:
Sailorjupiter produces electrified leaves that swirl around her and then are released at the opponent.
From http://www.mokuzen.net/evolution/info02.html
Jupiter Oak Evolution-She throws her hand to the side and the sign of Jupiter is on it. Lightning pours out, and she begins to spin, looking like she's ice skating. Leaves/Orbs are thrown out in all directions. Used in the fourth and fifth season.

She also has Flower Hurricane in the manga and in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, so Jupiter Oak Evolution isn't her only wood-based attack.

I think Sailor Jupiter has two elements, that is, electricity and wood. One is rooted in Greek/Roman mythology (Zeus/Jupiter throwing lightning bolts) and the other comes from Japanese mythology (the word for Jupiter in Japanese, "mokusei," means "wood star"). So she's got a hybrid element.

Not to say that Sailor Moon and Pokemon are related, but even Pokemon don't always have one element. For example, Chinchou and Lanturn, in Gold/Silver/Crystal, are Water/Electric types. So, if Sailor Jupiter was a Pokemon, she'd be a Grass/Electric type.

Going back to the elements/mythology thing, Venus has a similar situation to Jupiter. Her powers combine love (Venus the goddess of love), at least in the attack names (her powers themselves don't influence the target's emotions, she's not a Love Angel from Wedding Peach!) and also metal or gold ("kinsei," the word for Venus in Japanese, means "gold star").

Mercury and Mars, on the other hand, entirely stick with the Japanese elements (water and fire, respectively) while the realms of the gods their planets are named after (intelligence and war) are more represented in their personalities than their powers. Though, once again, the SuperS attacks are different. Mars' bow-and-arrow, while made of fire, is meant to evoke something that could be used in a war or fighting. And Mercury's harp in "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody" clearly comes from the lyre that Hermes (the Greek Mercury) invented. So, in conclusion, the Inner Senshi's powers come from both the Japanese mythological sources and also the Western Greek/Roman stories.

She also has Jupiter Coconuts Cyclone in the manga (and Another Story, iirc).

Ever notice that the Inner Sensho don't really ever use the powered-up versions of their first attacks after the arc they learn them in? I mean, they're stronger than the original attacks, but you still see Fire Soul and Supreme Thunder being used in later episodes.

Just kinda bugged me. And I wanted to see more Fire Soul Bird and Supreme Thunder Dragon used more, because those attacks kicked an incredible amount of ass.

Do interesting things about BSSM merchandise count here? Because I noticed something about my Beauty Change Starlights dolls. At first I thought Seiya and Taiki had the same size foreheads, and Yaten's was smaller, but I just noticed this today:

Seiya's is the biggest!

On the dolls, that is.

In episode 52, "Nerawareta enji! Venus daikatsuyaku", Usagi has to go investigate the attacks on her own and she wonders why she has to. Luna responds by saying it's because Usagi is the only one who can use the Disguise Pen, but if this is true, how come Minako can use it later on in the series to disguise herself?

In the Minako/Rei exam story (In the PGSM bonus story edition):

Usagi borrows a book from Minako that has 'HxH (14)' on it. I think this is a reference to Hunter X Hunter, since Ms. Takeuchi is married to the author.

I don't mean to offend any Irish people who dislike the Starlights with this, but what happened to the Irish in the 1800's is similar to the Starlights' story.

-Galaxia attacking their planet and destroying the life there is like the British taxes causing the Great Famine.
-The Starlights escaped from their planet without really wanting to, like how many Irish immigrants left for survival as well.
-The Starlights became famous for singing songs about their lost Princess, just like the stereotypical Irish entertainer who sings about the lost love who is back in Ireland.
-The Starlights, despite being aliens, could pretend to be regular Japanese citizens; it was easier for the Irish to blend in than other immigrants because they already spoke English and were "White."

Quite frankly, I'd be more worried about offending the Irish IN GENERAL by comparing something historical about their country to...a cartoon.
