SuperS saturating Wal-Mart

I know some people's Wal-Marts got in the boxsets, but locally, and, it seem a majority, only got in SuperS volume 7 as part of an anime selection that Wal-Mart and Target picked up.

So what do I see today at Wal-Mart? SuperS vol. 6, for $9.92, same price as 7. Unusual, considering they've has 7 since at least August and nothing else. Though considerign how well 7 sold here, Wal-Mart may consider picking up the series.

*nods* I found number 6 for that price, too. We grabbed it. May as well. Hopefully they'll get the others in. They had 7 back a few months ago, too, but I was broke at the time.

I noticed some Supers DVDs on sale at my grandparent's Walmart, too. I was quite surprised to find it there along with stuff like Akira and Chobits. Here I thought Walmart only sold anime like Pokemon and Yugioh. I wonder if Walmart is starting to mend their ways about anime...

I've actually seen Sailor Moon, Chobits, Noir, and Full Metal panic at mine. What's odd is that they put them in the KIDS section even though the 13+ stickers were in plain sight...

The ones at my wal-mart were in just a general DVD section....weird.

If I remember correctly, this is how things happend with the book stores and manga. They got kinda random/most resent volumes, they started to sell well, the stores invested in the series. I hope this happens with stores like Wal-Mart and Target 'cause they have the best prices I've ever seen for Anime DVD's.

It was funny. I was walking past the section and it's just like... "Why is the Cowboy Bebop movie in the kids' section? Yes, I'm sure the Wal-mart people didn't notice it says rated R on it."

I snatched SuperS 7 when it first arrived at Wal-mart and I got 6 there two weeks ago.

You mean the DVD for $9.92? That's so cheap!

My opinion is that if they put the anime media in with the other movies, it gets hard to find (and you never know what you've missed). Most of the stores here, they consider anime a category so they have an anime section.

I can't find anime at my Wal-Mart, so mine does NOT have it all. Such lies, anyway, Target has a mini anime section. They ONLY have Sailor Moon SuperS Volume 7 for a nice low price under 10$, so obviously I snatched it. Havn't "watched" all of it, just to have for fun ^_^

There is NO anime at my Walmart. At all. Minus the 7,000 Yugioh toys.

At my wal-mart they have SuperS VI-VII, Dragon BallZ (a few of the movies), Dragon Ball GT, Chobits vol.2, CowBoy Behop Movie, Vampire D movie, Spirited Away, & Rourouni Kenshin. They did have Ah! My Goddesss: the movie, Grave of the Fire Flies, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, .//HackSign vol. 1-3, & Princess Monoke.

All the ones in my area don't have much. There's DBZ and GT, a scattering of SM, and that's about it. I've seen .hack//sign 1 in the nearest one, as well as the Escaflowne movie (which I got for Christmas last year)

I wish they had Chobits...

I used to see Pokemon and DBZ VHS at Wal-Mart. But lately, not counting the Miyazaki stuff(which they no doubt got due to Disney anyway), I've seen SM, Cowboy Bebop, Rahxephon, Chobits, etc. Usually one volume of each, I guess a sampler. Saw the same at Target plus Love Hina.

Have you guys tried checking out some video game stores (preferably Game Stop/Software Etc.). They usually sell anime DVDs. Mine does. It has a lot including Noir, Rurouni Kenshin, Sakura Wars, EVA, etc. Sailormoon sold out a long time ago.

O/T kinda... Walmart always has movies for cheep... I saw Pirates of the Carribean, Bruce Almighty, and X-men 2 for 15.99 and they just came out!

As I said somewhere else on the board, my local Wal-Mart had both uncut SM box sets. I saw a few Sakura Taisen DVD's there, which I bought right away.

Aside from all of this, they have the usual Yu-Gi-Oh! VHS tapes.

Same here. They had Samirai X in the kids section along with Ghost in a Shell with a 17+ sticker in plain sight!!! They must have just been carless, along wiht the Season One Boxset of Sailor Moon with a 15+ sticker (Although i dont agree with that rating)

The Walmarts around here carry 0 anime. They used to have the VHS tapes of Sailor Moon S and SuperS and the movies, but not anymore. London Drugs though has been getting tons of anime. The last time I checked there, they had the R boxset for $119 CDN, which made me cranky since I paid $167 for mine.
