Season with the least filler?
So which season would it be?
I'm leaning towards either R or S.
It seems that in each of them the main focus and baddies were gotten to much more quickly then any other season I've seen.

Maybe R if you mean only the Black Moon arc, but the Makaiju arc was pretty much all filler. I'd go with either S or Stars. Probably Stars because it's the shortest.

Speaking of which, am I the only person who likes a lot of the filler episodes in Sailormoon? A lot of them can be really amusing with fun character interactions. Of course, there are also ones that are just really boring and dull, but there are also quite a few that I find funny and enjoyable, and that help develop the characters a little.

Generally, I consider any episode in which no plot elements occur to be filler. In other words, you could take the episode out and not miss a thing.
Classic doesn't have as much as I thought. R's first arc is about 95% filler. The second arc not so much, but it did have a few plots which went on for too many episodes.
I've only seen the first 7 episodes of S. Watched most of SuperS(I own all the DVDs), it had its share. Haven't seen enough of stars.

No you're not, I enjoy most of the filler episodes as well. A lot of them are really funny. The only time the filler episodes really bothered me was during SuperS, when we not only had too much filler and the main plot was moving too slowly, but it all focused on ChibiUsa while the other senshi were pushed into the background.Stephen Victor wrote:Speaking of which, am I the only person who likes a lot of the filler episodes in Sailormoon? I probably like the filler episodes, too, since they're usually my favorites because they're the funniest!
Ironically, though, since I like SailorStars the best (Taiki and Yaten are in it!!), I think it's definitely the season with the least filler. In fact, I think that the filler officially stops at episode 193, and then maybe even earlier with episode 187, since with each episode on, something new happens, or a story continues:
(I'm putting this in a spolier if you don't want to know what happens in each episode)
187: Sailor Moon gets her new attack and Chibi Chibi gets a Senshi form
188: Everyone's identities are revealed and Aluminum Siren dies.
189: Tin Nyanko is introduced. Seiya is knocked out (which is part of a mini-story).
190: Seiya tells Usagi about the Lights' past, and then faints on stage because of her injury.
191: Taiki first smells Kakyuu coming from Chibi Chibi, who just got her burner. (this leads up to 193)
192: Yaten then smells Kakyuu around Chibi Chibi too.
After these episodes, I think the filler is definitely over. How's that? The shortest season has the least filler, too.

I agree that Sailor Stars is the season that probably has the least filler-in, though Sailor Stars isn't my all-time fav season of Sailor Moon. I enjoy watching the filler-in episodes myself, because they're usually quite funny and very humorous. I just don't like it when there's tons of filler-in and no plot development, like in Supers. Odd though that I love Azumanga Daioh, even though that entire series is filler-in.
I like all of the filler episodes. I would go with the first arc of R as the season with the most filler. As for the least filler, Classic or Sailor Stars.

I bet Stars has the least filler. The Nehelenia part is all filler, except for Usagi becoming Eternal Sailor Moon.
I agree some fillers are better than plot eps.
I mean, who can NOT laugh at Minako: Blowing up a stereo, making porridge so bad Rei faints, breaking a window by throwing a thermometer by accident, getting Usagi to take pictures with it looks like she's kissing Seiya, etc...
and... ALL THE SENSHI GOING NUTS ABOUT A COCKROACH!!!!!

I'd have to say Stars. I don't think the Nehelenia thing was really filler because it was just a whole seperate story on its own. I agree though, some filler episodes are way better than non-filler ones ^^

I've never heard anyone suggest this before, but I can kind of see where you're coming from. Other than Usagi becoming Eternal Sailor Moon (and a couple of other little things), the plot has no bearing on the SuperS series (which ended just fine without Nehelenia coming back) or the rest of the Stars series (which has nothing to do with Nehelenia).yoshmaster5 wrote:The Nehelenia part is all filler, except for Usagi becoming Eternal Sailor Moon.
At the same time, just because it's a plot all on its own doesn't mean it's "filler" IMHO. During those 6 episodes the plot is always moving forwards, always being interesting. It's not like the first part of R, which was just 12 episodes of Monster of the Week and then a big finale, with a few little plot points scattered along the way.

about S having alot of pure heart crystal victims every week, some of you may not have caught it, but the episodes where all the inner senshi are victims are semi important due to the fact that they get mentioned in the episode where Minako's a victim (she's trying to get a pure heart in the first place because everyone else was a victim at one time), which is obviously important because the inner senshi and outer senshi reveal their identities to eachother. Also, while Haruka and Michiru's flashback episode doesn't effect other episodes, I will consider it non-filler because, well, being a flashback to an important scene is kinda like watching important events in a different order. Now, does that bring S's filler count down a bit or what?

Filler episodes definately have their charm. Getting to see the characters outside the plotline and looking into their lives from a more relaxed and enjoying aspect or in other instances gaining more insight into who they are. That's what I loved about the manga stories that were just side stories.
hmmm....season with least filler would have to be Stars or Classic. Although it's hard for me to choose which one. They both seem to move right along with story elements and not stop too long on any side areas. (execpt for a couple places in both)

I think it's S.
To me, the story flowed constantly. First the outers, then identities revealed, then Hotaru showed up before you knew it, and then it jumped into the Mistress Nine thing.

Nah I love the fillers too. But I agree that SuperS moves too slowly. Though some episodes were funny like Minako's, but basically it was:Stephen Victor wrote:Speaking of which, am I the only person who likes a lot of the filler episodes in Sailormoon? 1) Introduce VOTD (Victim of the Day)
2) VOTD has problem
3) One senshi or another want to help out.
4) Current main villians or villian take the popular item of the season.
5) Sailor Senshi appear
6) Sailor Senshi beat up MOTD (Monster of the Day)
7) VOTD's problem is solved
Course there are exceptions but that's usually the basic outline.

A lot of Stars does seem to be filler. I mean, the Stars part of the manga was basically a big Senshi shooting gallery for the first two volumes (^_^;; I have yet to read the last volume of the manga. I dunno why...).
S didn't seem to have that much, especially compared to the Chibi-usa-centered crap filler that was most of SS...
