Where can I purhcase a stars dvd set?

Post by moondvd » Mon Dec 01, 2003 4:27 pm

I am wondering if there is a website that sellfs the bootleg Stars dvd. I had a site in mind, but the item is out of stock. I do NOT like ebay. I have already been ripped off once on an expensive item. I do not want an ebay seller. I am wondering if anyone has any other websites. Thanks for all who reply.

J. Anderson and I got the Stars Import boxset from a seller on eBay that imports anime from Malaysia. I've seen sites, but without reccomendations, I cannot suggest them.

And you always have to check references from eBay sellers before purchasing. If they have 0 "seller" feedback or a poor rating in general, don't order. I ordered from the seller on eBay because I read a load of positve reviews for them.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I haven't bought anything from there, but I know a lot of people have, and he comes very highly recommended.

Incidentally, the person who runs the site is actually one of the founding members of the anime club to which I belong, and actually lives really close to me. I don't know him personally, but other people in the club do. I know one person in particular who's planning on buying the Stars DVD's from him really soon.

I got an entire vcd Stars set on Yahoo auctions... you have to have a credit card, or a debit card though, but I got mine for 17.99 the whole season! and you don't have to pay with the card either. The girl i bought mine off of accepted a check.

Thats cool, yeah, i recomend him. The Audio is crystal clear, and the video is just alittle dim, but if you adjust your TV's sharpness it looks better

Speaking of the seller I bought mine from, I contacted him about the possibility of an R bootleg set. He says that right now, he only has Stars... but he's looking into getting the other series' in a similar format.

Which I have no doubt will be available, I'm fairly sure classic is already boottlegged on eBay in a similar box(digipak foldout, 4 discs for all episodes, region free despite coming from Asia). Though without actually ownign that set, I have no idea if they used their own episode rips and their own subtitles, or just ripped ADVs discs.

The Stars set has also shown up from a larger number of sellers too, so it must be selling well.

whoa. I'm still trying to get Classic and R in domestic format, but if you hear anything more about the bootlesgs coming out soon, let me know. Incase I don't get them before the bootlegs are released. It's not that I'm cheap, I just want to see them.

I saw the bootleg of Sailormoon season 1 uncut. It's a rip of ADV's R1 release. But the box is really nice with lovely images (I haven't seen it anywhere before) of the first 5 soldiers!

You can read reviews and an image of the box here:
http://www.import-anime.com/index.php?p ... em_id=2709

Just a note, the audio is still bad since it is a rip...

You can get the Classic sub bootleg box:
http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/exc ... 65-3505627

Kind of expensive though, $55.

You can get the S bootleg box:
http://s1.amazon.com/exec/varzea/ts/exc ... 65-3505627

It's only $36 with shipping and handling!

I saw a number of the S1 sets on eBay for the $30-$40 price range. But even considering it's just an ADV rip, het, it's about $100 less. Though depending on which revision they ripped, you may still get the ep 24 shaking. Granted, you could get that anyway... but on the plus side, you probably won't have to put up with that painful Anime Channel ad each time you watch it.

I'm sure it is trustworthy....the reviews are posted by customers who have bought a bootleg. And the screenshots are also by fans. I love that site because it has reviews on almost every bootleg by each company as well as some screenshots taken by customers so you can see for yourself the glitches, quality, and subtitles. I don't really know about their store though. I still think you should use that site as a review reference in case you want to buy anything DVD bootlegs and then use Ebay to buy it.

O_o but aren't these rips of ADV's? It seems so, because of the audio and video grades... but if it is ADV's i would give the subtitling grade... about a 2.7/5. I don't know the price, althoguh if it's under $50 i would buy it to make sure my assumption is correct

That site sells "Import Anime". You might as well say it sells Hong Kong and Mayalisa bootlegs. So, it's more then likely direct ripps from R1 DVDs.

I emailed them lastnight to ask a question. They carry the just about everything listed in their review portion, but they removed the page in the store until they get it back in stock. I'll know the price for the SMC when they get the new shipment in. The person was very polite and responded very quickly. I may order from them at the first of the year. Thier prices are much more reasonable then the place I usually shop fo imports.

I tried looking there, there was none listed for a DVD format..just VCD...My player doesn't accept VCD. I 've seen it for $30 at www.atomic-movies.com, but they are out of stock. I'm trying to find it for the same price..not the usual $50 I keep finding on the net.

A website that sells stars on dvd and video? OOH *raises hand* Its all happenin' on eBay!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my Sailor Stars DVDs (all the stars episodes, I might add) for $23.00 USD (U.S Dollars) plus shipping charges. Theres also VHS too, but be very careful. My first set of Stars (on VHS) were in very crappy condition even though when I bidded on them (and won, of course) it said A+ quality. Be careful when choosing VHS off ebay. With the Sailor Stars DVDs, you don't have to worry as much with quality since they should be in good quality anyway.
