So, what is your honest opinion on who Sailor Cosmos is or could be? (I looked, and searched, and couldn't find a thread addressing this, which kind of surprised me). This is just speculation, as the only person who really knows is Naoko herself.
I can't quote what Sailor Ceres says in the manga, but isn't it something along the lines of:
[spoiler]Sailor Cosmos is the final form of Sailor Moon[/spoiler]
Also:
[spoiler]Chibi Chibi becomes Sailor Cosmos[/spoiler]
But doesn't that mean she could be a reincarnation of Usagi? Or a future descendant? (ie grand child, or great grand child)
The main thing I notice that seems to point more to the descendant thing rather than reincarnation is the hair. Usagi, in all incarnations has round odangos. Princess Serenity, Sailor Moon, Usagi, Neo Queen Serenity, they all do. Chibi Usa has the cones shaped, in all incarnations. Sailor Cosmos has heart shaped odangos, which leads me to believe she is not an incarnation of Usagi, but a descendent.

I think Naoko left that one open so people could form their own theories I could be wrong but I havent heard of an interview where she stated exactly who cosmos is. But what I got from reading the entire stars manga is that she definately could be Sailor Moons final form. Heres why I came to this and im gonna put it in spoilers for those who haven't read the manga yet.
[spoiler]Basically after Sailor Moon sacrifices herself in the cauldron, or it could have been just before she has this talk with Sailor Cosmos who tells her that she ran away to the present SM time to stop her from fighting. Hence why she took the form of Chibi Chibi. You see in her future she fights Sailor Chaos who is really strong and must have destroyed everything and everyone from Cosmos time. So she wanted to try to stop the fighting all together cause by then she was tired of seeing those she loved be destroyed. And I mean come on by that time it would have to have been over the 100th time. But in seeing how willing SM was to sacrifice her life to save those she loved, it gave her courage to face her duties again.[/spoiler]
So from reading that I formulated that she has to either be the future incarnation of Sailor Moon, or she could be her ultimate form. Who knows how many times the sailors, Serenity included would have died before she came to be. There was no direct time line to where Sailor Cosmos came from so that to is up in the air.
I will say this though I like the explination of chibi chibi better in the manga. It didnt make any sense to me in the anime of why she was even around or why she looked so much like sailor moon when they stated that

I still dont get or like that story line and I put that in spoilers for anyone who hasnt watched stars yet.
