Villains you wish turned goood

Post by Mimete » Tue Dec 25, 2007 12:06 am

What are some of the villains in Sailor Moon that you wish turned good in the end? This is for the villains that basicly never turned good, Nephrite, the Weird Sisters (at least in the Anime), and the Amazoness Quattet don't really don't count since they turned good in the end.

The villains I really wish turned good are Mimete and Sailor Iron Mouse. I think Mimete had the potential to become good but couldn't because she murdered Eudial and was still loyal to her boss. It would have been nice if in a certain episode she decided to fully give up her career as a Death Buster to persue her dream of becoming an actress, but she didn't (which was a big mistake for her, because eventually she ended up getting murdered by one of her own team members, just like she murdered Eudial. Irony sucks huh Mimete? :P )

I also wish that Sailor Iron Mouse could have been saved because she was SOOO cute, but it's sad that she was pretty much unsaveable because Galaxia had her very existance in her hands. :(

Anyways which villains in Sailor Moon do you wish would turn good?

Well I go by my life sentiments I like seeing good versues evil because one needs the other to make each other appealing. That being said I dont like the whole "turn the bad guy around" mentality of the anime version of Sailor moon because being evil isnt always as cut and dry as its made out to be. Beryl's story from the manga showed that perfectly. She started out as a being who only wanted to help her people. Then a spark of jealousy due to love for her prince was exploited by a dark force to turn her evil. It gave a villian character, without the bad guys there really would have been no point of Sailor moon's powers awakening at all.

But if they were going to show any of them having a change of heart I think I would have liked to seen the Four Lords (Kundzite, Zorcite, Jadeite and Nephrite) done via the manga style. There was a storyline where when they awoken in the future they remembered their role in siding with Metallia and had regret, but due to the curse placed on them they were bound to work for the dark side, and their spirits cursed to live as stones if they failed this. But due to their honor to the prince their spirits did go on later in the manga to help Endymion a couple times. So if the anime had touched on that Id have gladly watched it. Those are the only villian redemption I would have enjoyed.

I said it before and i'll say it again the reason I loved the villians of the story were because they were nasty. Though some like Beryl were corrupted many made the conscious choice to stray to the dark side Ie the black moon family. I loved seeing stuff like that having the senshi go against such a formidable family (in the manga). They were wishy washy in the anime if you ask me and yeah the sisters got killed off pretty quick in the books but they were pretty nasty either way (just think of all the humans they killed to get to the senshi including nuns if you dont believe me) And the actual royals of Rubeus, Emerald, Saphire, and Diamond were way tougher to me and ugh Wise man gave me chills. And though the Animates were pawns of Galaxia who herself was a victim of Chaos, they were very strong women who killed off the Senshi and their guardians, so I didnt feel too sorry for them. Specially when they could have choosen to die for their respective planets instead of becoming willing slaves. I think that having most of the villians have softer sides and a change of ways took away from the characters. But meh im just a stickler for bad guys who behave as bad guys.
"Have you been half asleep? And have youve heard voices?
I hear them calling my name."
Is this the sweet sound, that calls the young sailors?
The voice maybe one in the same.
Ive heard it too many times to ignore it,
its something that I sposed to be..
Someday we''''ll find it, the rainbow connection
The lover, the dreamer, and me..."

*Being a bad girl is such hard work....

I personally have always prefered the more sympathetic multi-layered villains as opposed to the more typical I R ebil villains who want to destroy the world simply for being evil. For one reason I find those types of villains to be boring and cliched and I also don't think the real world is always divided into simple black and white style of thinking. While there are people out there who are truly horrible, I think most people tend to fall into shades of gray and I feel like there's always two sides to everything, which is why I try to sympathsize with the villains rather than root for their defeat.

In any case, I really wished Sailor Tin Nyanko turned good. For the majority of Sailor Stars I thought she was pretty annoying when she was evil, but I actually started to find myself interested in her character when she was trying to break free from Galaxia's control and I actually felt sorry for her when she died. I also wished that Lead Crow became good. I felt like she really cared for Siren and if it wasn't for Galaxia's control, her passion to avenge Siren could've been a great asset to the Soldiers.

Personally, I would have loved to have seen Prince Demande/Diamond be fully turned good. He seemed to start down that path, what with Saphir's being killed and with Sailor Moon telling him of Wiseman's plans, but he never had the chance to really be fully turned good before his death, either at the hands of Wiseman or his own insanity, depending on the anime or the manga. :(

I always sympathized with the whole Diamond/Saphir (etc) family. I kinda wanted all of them to turn good except maybe Rubeus. The way he showed that he was basically incapable of feeling love just kinda made me hate him. I guess, in a way, Saphir did turn, and Diamond probably would have. Emerald would have followed Diamond anywhere, so I would have gotten my wish if they had lived. That makes me mad.
I would also just like to say ... I <3<3<3<3 Nephrite!!!
The Music of the Night and Tuxedo Mirage are what keep me from going completely INSANE! (right...)
