For a few days, I have been meaning to get the Sailor Moon artbooks, the Japanese version that comes directly from Japan.
I saw this seller on ebay, ezstore, that sells 4 of Sailor Moon Artbooks for a very decent price. About $25 each but shipping is like $8.
On her description for each of her artbooks on her auctions, she says that they are directly from Japan. Is this true? I have seen Anime artbooks that looks exactly like the Japanese version with all Japanese writing as well, but if you look at where it is made at, it is likely to say in Taiwan or something like that.
I can post one of her Sailor Moon artbook links here, but not sure if that is allow.
So has anybody every bought the Sailor Moon artbooks from her and are they are they really 100% imported from Japan and the Chinese version?
The reason that I am asking this is because in the past, I used to watch some ebay auctions that sold Sailor Moon artbooks, the exact same one, where the bids went over $100! 0- 0
Are they rare or something?

Well, it's kind of hard to ask people if they've bought from this chick if you don't post a link =P So yes, posting a link to the seller is allowed.
It could very well be possible that they are bootlegs (fake, usually from China or Korea like you stated), but again, we can't remotely tell unless you post a link.
In my opinion, the sailor moon artbooks seem pretty rare lately...mostly because the old school sailor moon merchandise has faded a lot. There's a lot of new merchandise due to the live-action show and such, but the older merchandise, like the artbooks, is harder to find. I myself only have two of them, and they were hard to find. If ound them at anime conventions.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I know that there is a 5th artbook but I know that one is really, really hard to find and it goes for a very high price on ebay. X0
Also, I email the seller asking her who was the publsiher of the artbooks and when it was published and this was the seller's response:
"we don't know how to read japanese, it printed on the book is 1995."
That is all she wrote.

Actually, there are seven total.yellow_munky wrote:I know that there is a 5th artbook but I know that one is really, really hard to find and it goes for a very high price on ebay. X0
The first five are the easiest to find and are the cheapest. These correspond with each season/arc of Sailor Moon.
Next is the Materials Collection. It contains character designs and various bits of info, some of which was never used in either the anime or the manga,
Finally is the Infinity Collection. It is ultra-rare, so expect to pay top dollar to get it if you even see it for sale at all.

Back to your question. The answer is I don't know. I need a picture that shows it on the table to make a better judgment.
