Would you have been won over by Umino's speech in Episode 95

One girl I know says that Umino came across as way too strong and put himself down too much. Another says that the speech was the most heartwarming thing she's ever seen and that she'd have loved to be in Naru's place. What do you all say, members of the SMU Forums?

It's a nice speech, although I'll agree with those who say Umino is putting himself down too much.

Umino putting himself down too much can stem from all the abuse Usagi and Naru did to him in the past when he tried to help them.

If Umino said this to me I would probably be very worried but tahts an effect of being a guy... Who's not named Naru.

I don't see whats so special about this speech anyway, its pretty generic as far as anime speeches go. XP

I find it sweet, because he's basically saying that he's not worthy to be with her. He holds her above everything else, himself included. He would give up everything for her. To me, that is love.

I don't think he came on too strong... He said what he meant. I find that to be an admirable quality. Sure, he's getting pretty heavy with the self-deprecation, but that's what all hopeless romantics in fiction do. Usagi did much he same thing on more than one occasion with regards to Mamoru. They put their loves before themselves, and that's pretty sweet.

If you're into all that romance crap, anyway. XD

I think its a sweet speech. Would it have won me over? I dont think so but only because I tend to get weirded out by over displays of affection. Id probably break his heart by busting out into laughter or running away. Heart felt speeches are scary 0.0

I probably wouldn't have been won over by that speech; but I do think it's sweet that he puts Naru up on a pedestal. I feels nice to know that someone appreciates you that much.

I agree with both of these.

It wasn't like he bashed himself left and right. He simply meant that he was incredibly lucky that someone as wonderful as naru chose him. It's extremely sweet.
