This name alone evokes utter repulsion in me: "Brad"

Must... not... harm... small animals. I die when i hear "Michelle" talking about her "sweet Brad." T_T.... what have they done to my Michi? Even my brother, who HATES Sailor Moon, laughed his ass off at that one.

Michiru doesn't, but Michelle does...Cloverway thought "MUST BE STRAIGHT!!!11!!" so they gave "Michelle" more boyfriends than I care to count.

EDIT: I didn't see Dan's post, and posted at the same time he did...-_-;; And by more than I care to think about, I was exaggirating a little...

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

I only remember one or two people being named.

Admittedly, the scenario isn't impossible. We don't know what Michiru did before she met Haruka, and she may well have had a boyfriend or two. I think it was mostly the execution that failed...

The line in the talent show episode, where Serena talks to the audience.

I feel your pain, Jeff. I hated how her entire character was changed. She was so nice to Usagi in the original. Michelle is just a horrible bitch. Poor poor Michiru. ;_;

Even more, poor Haruka. ^^''

That's rather interesting, as I didn't start getting annoyed at Sailor Uranus until AFTER I saw the original version. She was one of my favorites as a new dubbie (along with Mars and Chibi...err, Mini Moon). I think for me I wasn't used to seeing strong-willed, and yes, even tough and "bratty" girls on shows, and saw them as a welcome change. Come to think of it, I used to hate Usagi.

Oh, c'mon, how vcould anyone forget the oh-so-popular "These are funny symbols!" line from S? To me that, combined with "Jupiter Thunder Power", made me cringe at Optimum worse than I ever did in the Classic and R dubs.

Tee hee! I had my final exam on funny symbols!
(translation: Japanese class exam)

I find myself more inclined, for the most part, to make fun of/laugh at the stupid dub lines rather than get angry about them (except for a certain one about fainting being princess-like).

iirc, nothing was ever said about "funny symbols"... "symbols", yes, but not "funny symbols".

The most painful dub line for me was hearing any one of CWI's many names they used for "Venus Love-Me Chain", such as "Venus Love CHAIN!" "Venus Love Chain Harness!" "VEEEENNUUUS!" (okay, wtf?) "Venus Love Chain WHIP!" "Super Venus Love Chain!" and "Venus Love Chain Knockout!". If they were gonna use a dub name for the attack, they would've been better off with just using Dic's equally lame-sounding "Venus Love Chain Encircle", but then again, this is CWI/Optimum we're talking about..Like I said in another topic, can't poor Minako-chan remember her own attack name? Or for that matter, be able to read her native language? I mean, in later episodes, despite the flipping of car scenes, they acknowledge that the show takes place in Japan (er, sometimes), yet poor dub Minako has to read a letter "With her imagination" because she couldn't understand the funny looking "symbols"..

I'm going to end this debate once and for all.
AND I QUOTE:
Mina: "I read this with my imagination."
Lita: "How could you read it?! It's nothing but symbols!!"
Amy: "It looks like there was a letter or two, but they were erased."

So Dinozore is right. It says nothing about "Funny" symbols, just symbols and it being read with her imagination.

Dan or Bob, you may want to change that in the SMU comparisons.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Wow! You know, the reason I thought it said "funny symbols" was because people said that on the old thread about that line on the old forum, and I believed them since I haven't watched the NA dub in so long and forgot what had exactly been said there.

Hmm, I guess that makes that line less offensive then and just weird. Mina, didn't you know that ALL written languages are made of symbols?

Ah, the symbols line! I hated that. Couldn't they have said something about poor spelling or handwriting or something? So, not only are they implying that hiragana is not a "real" writing system, they're also implying that Serena is so dumb that she doesn't know the letters of the alphabet! The whole thing was stupid though, because the dub takes place in Japan too! What idiots! I had forgotten about this line too.
I am a loser!

Their are so many painful linnes. The DiC lines were always really cute. Well, back in 1995 I always thought "wicked cool" was "wicked cool". Cloverway, on the other hand, cracks me up with their slang. The most painful line is...

"Hey Serena, what's up dog?"

This was said by Unazuki, err... Lizzie... err... Elizabeth. First of all, it's out of character for Unazuki to be talking like a rapper gangsta. Whazzup dog is something you hear rappers say, usually ccompanied by homie g and busta cap. Hearing someone in a very timid voice say "What's up dog?" is just aaaahhhhh.

"What's up dog?" is bad. But so was Luna's "Is that your final answer?" line in one episode of the S dub.

Luna does not equal game show host. -_-[/spoiler]

What is wrong with the dub making a reference to an American TV show? I've heard that American TV shows are popular in Japan; what if Luna saw it and wanted to be cool/exotic? Why else do the Senshi shout their attacks in English and have English names of anime characters like some of the Pokemon and the Senshi's superhero names? Because I've heard the Japanese think it's cool or something to use English words, so maybe Luna watched the Millionaire game show? We DO see her watching TV sometimes.

Not if we go by the fact that the episode was originally made in Japan in 1994, and thus Luna should not be making references to shows that don't exist yet (yeah, I know the dub takes place in the 21st century, but still..) =D
