The episode after Serena discouvers that she's the moon princess:

"So here's the buzz Sailor Moon fans...blah blah blah...Oh, and guess what, I'm the moon princess.Me.Serena.I mean as if.

-_- thanks for ruining the mood Terri.

the 8 year olds using slang in the episode where the senshi turn super. I don't want to even THINK of that horrid name...

C'mon, that's just an insult to everyone's intelligence. There is a clear difference between stupidity and airheadedness!
But Usagi IS that stupid. She thinks a poet is a snack!
First off, she never thought it was a snack, she ASKED if it was a snack. Second, ignorance and stupidity are two different things. Not being knowledgable about something or being unaware makes you ignorant on the subject. You really ought to learn the difference between the two. Usagi isn't a stupid character, and I'm so tired of people flinging the word "stupid" around.
Now to get back on topic:

the slang about killed it for me, too. Some of that cloverway slang was just HIDEOUS x_X;

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

Does anyone know if some of the slang used by the Cloverway dub characters was real? Because some of it I've heard people use, but then some of it might've been made up by whoever does the scripts.

Actually, I think the idea of making up your own slang is interesting, but that's just me.

As for the "Is Usagi stupid" thing, I'm actually not sure if that makes her stupid or not, because it's unknown as to whether she was ever told anything about poetry before that episode. I'm just surprised that a high school student of her level WOULDN'T know what a poet is...unless poetry isn't taught in Japanese schools or something. Or maybe she really IS ignorant, since she probably slept through the class anyway.

D'oh! I knew I missed someone out. The script has to be translated by someone before (usually) someone else writes the script. And you actually mean the people who write the script, not the people that do the translating. Oh well, 'tis only me being my nitpicky self.

Practically all of the slang but the worst is probably Amy saying "Are you tripping Serena!?!"

That whole convo in R where Raye is saying Serena should apologize to Darien because Darien said he didn't want to see her anymore. Um what did she need to apologize for!?! This was in the episode where Catsy became good.

Mercury hits Zirconia with Aqua Rhapsody. Zirconia: "It's cold............ and wet!" Me: .....

"Girl powers gotta stick together!"- Super Sailor Moon in one of the last episodes of SuperS. o_O

"*in horrible southern accent* Desparat tams caw fo desparat meashas!"- Laurie (the girl who was the target) in the Sailor V movie episode.

At the end of Pluto's S movie speech "Time will tell!".

"Mama what happened to all da customas?"- Molly in the first episode. I was like... wow shut up.
I asked for one line only, but all of thoese WERE pretty painful! ^.-

Me: This is coming from the kid who doesn't know what Viagra is!
Ko: It's cold medicine, right?
Our Group: NO!!!
Me: Can I just say?
Dylan: Sure, it's no weirder than what normally comes out of your mouth.
Me: (says what)
Ko: .....What's that?
Me: ......*starts crying*
Carley: STEVE! STEVE GET OVER HERE AND TELL KO WHAT VIAGRA DOES!
Steve: See, it's like this: The bridge goes up and the soldiers rush out....

Tiff: Aww, you killed someone for me. That's so sweet in a f***ed up sort of way!

Sorry for going off-topic here, but my sister and I were talking about slang the other night, and we were saying that valleygirl talk was the slang of the '80s and early '90s. Now, it seems like cussing is slang, as people seem to cuss all the time when they don't really need to, and a few years down the road, intellgient conversations will become slang.

Sorry about that ^^;

And yeah CWI's slang is real. People used stuff like "trippin", "buggin" in high school freshman year. But that was like 6 years ago, no one around here uses it anymore.

it's all right, thanks for editing ^^
and yes, that's what makes it so corny...they're using early 90's slang that people don't even touch anymore. I think the one that made me shudder the most was "da bomb". Ugh.

This isn't really a line, but everytime Sailor Mars/Raye says, "Se-RE-na!" I cringe. I can't stand the way it sounds when she says it. "Se-REEE-na! Se-REE-na!!" It causes me physical pain to hear it.

The line that actually causes me physical harm is the scream that Terri Hawkes does for Serena, the pain worsened when the VA for S and SuperS (I always forget her name) tries to imitate it. I swear I lose some of my hearing every time the scream is performed.

I bought a dub tape of S, and I have this foot high toybox I was standing on when I was watching it. I hear that scream in the first S episode and I fell. My nose hurt, but not as much as my ears...

This isn't really a line, but noises. It's the S episode with the motorcycles. Amara and Serena are on a motorcycle and the mean bikers try to run them over. Amara tells Serena to hold on and swerves to hide in a bush. In the original, Usagi didn't say anything, but Linda Ballantine (sp?) as Usagi just had to make these grating yodelling sounds, "Waaa!!Wohhh!! Wooo!!!" You can't get the full effect from this, but it was very, very bad. It hurt my ears. Literally painful.
I am a loser!

I wanna hear that! XD Too bad I missed it. Anyway, I got one from Sailormoon R the movie:

Rini: Go get 'em Moon Mama!

I seriously hate that nickname. Also, doesn't the R movie take place before they go to the future in the TV version? :? Also, why can't they just keep the original and simple "good luck"? I don't get it. The translation is so obvious and simple, but they just had to put more work onto it to make it more hideous. -_-

God, I can't believe I didn't think of that. I absolutely hate that line.

And because they have a pact with satan to slowly kill us by driving us insane by putting inane phrases that have nothing to do with the actual translation into scenes that are meant to be cute.

I'm pretty sure it's the latter. I mean, who can take Linda Ballantyne and Lisa Lumby-Richards and Jeff Lumby without going estupido?
