Most Painful Line

In all of dubbed Sailor Moon, what do you think was the most painful line? No ties and only one line!

For me, it's four words: Moon Cosmic Dream Action

I don't know about "painful," but there is ONE line in the DiC dub that makes me want to throttle "Amy" for saying it:
Sailor Jupiter: She just had a little fainting spell.
Sailor Mercury: How princess-like! (said in an approving tone)

Princesses are supposed to faint?!

I HATE THAT LINE!!!!

Serena/Princess Serena: ME? SERENA? A princess? Now, this is WAY past WEIRD!!
God, how I hate that line. It just killed the entire episode.

C'mon, that's just an insult to everyone's intelligence. There is a clear difference between stupidity and airheadedness!

Evil Prince Darien: I don't know who you're talking about, My name is Prince Darien.

Well, something like that. I can't remember the exact statement, but it makes me want to throw the tv or go inside and slap him around for being stupid and picky about his own name. Either that or doing that to the writers who made the dumb line.

Well, the way you said it didn't make it so stupid. The actual line, which goes something like:
Evil Darien: Darien? I don't know that name..NO! My name is PRINCE Darien!
THAT's what makes it stupid, the fact that he says no and yes to the same name. Dumbass writers.

Thanks for the clarification Tiff. I just tend to blank out on dub lines ever since subbed ones came out. i'm grateful for any help in that area that anyone can give ^_^

Maybe his first name is Prince...? Here's another dumb line. This one is from the Supers episode where the Sailor Senshi get their upgraded costumes. "What's wrong, Rini? I thought you said he was fly." Please kill me. ><

That's just Usagi being her not-informed self. Just because she didn't know something it doesn't make her an idiot. She would be stupid if she kept making the exact mistake even though she had been corrected several times.

In Usagi's defense, she is loving and caring, and gives the audience a chance to laugh after an intense scene. Her stupidity and ditziness are SUPPOSED to make us laugh!

I know, that's one of my favorite things about her. She's one of my favorites on the show BECAUSE she's so stupid and silly. I LOVE her silly "poet is a kind of snack" line.

Umm, back on topic.

One of the reasons I don't like the "fainting is princess-like" thing is because on Sailor Moon, princesses are powerful rulers and superheroes, not weaklings. So it kind of is insulting to Princess Serena's power, since she's still powerful on the dub.

But Pegasus wasn't the boy in question there, it was a kid at Rini's school. No one but Rini knows about her friendship with Pegasus, at least until the end of the series.

What is a "dubber"?

There's the company that licensed the anime and paid for the dub to be produced.
There's the dubbing studio where the dub was recorded.
There's the scriptwriter(s) for the dub.
There's the director(s) for the dub.
There's the actors for the dub.
There's the sound mixer(s) for the dub.

"Dubber" is a made up word that I don't quite get o.o

EDIT: Spoke too soon. Dubber is a real word:

But still, there are far too many people involved in the production of an anime dub to refer to "the dubber".

Anyway, so this post isn't totally off-topic... I'm gonna go with "WE are PLANET... POWER!" from the R movie. Like most of that scene, it's so different in mood from the original dialogue that it really annoys me. The original line was, "I won't let anyone be alone again!", an emotional conclusion to the movie's theme of loneliness.
