Ok, I'm going to sound like a complete idiot here in a minute. But what's the difference between a Tokyo and Osaka accent? All Japanese people sound the same to me, for some reason.
Wikipedia article on the Osaka accent (a.k.a. Kansai-ben)
You seem like the kind of person who'll lie.
However... this sword doesn't lie.

-_- Tokyo and Osaka aren't different countries. They are different areas of Japan.

You know..like how the south and new england are both a part of the U.S., but they aren't seperate COUNTRIES.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

-_- which is pretty irrelevent to what I'm describing. I'm talking about the fact that New Englanders have an accent different from the accents in the South, but they're still part of the same country.

I get what you're saying, but it's still pretty irrelevent.

yeah I know they are different areas, not different coutries. Sorry I don't think my message came across, I blame it on english as my 2nd language.

what I meant is that every country has different areas with different accents, oh well :)

I think that the voices are very important. Originally I only watched the dub versions and I liked Usagi's voice as younger and then it was alright when it changed abit. But I could not stand it in Sailor Moon S. It's the worst voice i've ever heard.

Im now watching the series in japanese, english sub. I love Usagi's original voice the (iforget her name lady lol) its awesome.. it fits the character great. With all the other sailor scouts it was hard to figure out who said what but i think i kinda prefer the english dubs for the sailor scouts. That may just be because english version was what I watched for years before switching.

Most of the dub voices are OK...
I LOVE Chibi-Usa's voice. It is perfect for her. I cannot Stand the later voice of Usagi. It was either squealy or way to mature during the battle scenes. I did think that Naru's accent was cute though. I also thought Ami's fit her character in the dub, even if it wasn't supposed to be that way. Luna's NEEDS to die!
The Music of the Night and Tuxedo Mirage are what keep me from going completely INSANE! (right...)

I can't remember Serena's first VA in the series but she could have Kotono Mitsuishi run for her money. I'm not sure if anyone agrees with that, but Serena's first VA was wonderful for Sailor Moon. I believe that she had the character's personality downpack. Although the voices for Serena weren't as good later in the series. :?

The voice for Serena in Supers was awful it was like she had stolen Ty Pennington's mega phone to say her lines! So of course the VA's are important, that and good writing. I didn't have one fav voice though. Molly's VA was awful too, and Amy's in the begginng too.
I reject your reality, and substitute my own. Adam Savage.

Adam: I think this is the strangest position I''ve ever been in on this show.
Kari: [quietly] Notice how he qualifies it with "on this show".

MythBusters.

well, in general the dubs bother me a lot. And my first language us spanish so ive actually heard both th english and spansih dub. To me they both suck. In the english dub their voices ound to sophisticated and in the spanish dub super girly. I think once you watch the original all the dubs seem...just...not right. But I think what really bothered me the mos,t at least in the Englsih dub is the accents they gave molly, ami and luna. It just...ruined their characters

Voice acting is super important. Although I dont know who all the voice actors are I still know when they sound realistic or not. Its easier for me to notice in dubbed versions. A lot of characters in anime - not just sailor moon- are ruined because of their voices. they just dont match the characters

I really didn't care about the voices that much. I don't nitpick at the show, as I just try to watch it and enjoy it. So, as for now, I really don't have any gripes about it at all.

I think the voices and the acting are very important. I think it's harder to relate to the characters or the moment when the dialogue is poor, the voices are annoying or the emotion just isn't there. I can't connect or feel for the character very well if the VA isn't doing a good job.

EDIT: After watching a comparison video on YouTube with the episode where Usagi is revealed to be the Moon Princess, I can definitely say that it's supported how I felt before. Everybody in the dub speaks a mile a minute! It's insane! It was so hard to get involved in what was happening when all the characters were constantly talking shit.

Not to mention that two of my favourite lines in the entire episode were replaced with generic crap... It loses it's charm when Usagi isn't telling Mamoru he's only 'the second most obnoxious guy now' or when they leave out Mamoru telling Usagi not to change.
