Watching any Sailor Moon lately?
Moderators: SMU Staff, SMU Chibi-Mods
I sure am. I haven't seen Sailor Moon for years, and recently I was just reminded of it and decided to watch one or two eps for old times sake. That turned into me watching the second half or so of Sailor Moon R as I'd never actually seen it all, and now that I'm done with that I've started to watch Classic and plan to make my way through the entire season.
As for thoughts on what I've watched... I enjoyed Sailor Moon R, largely because Chibi-Usa is one of my favourite characters and I enjoyed watching her grow as the episodes went along. I wasn't particularly thrilled with how some things turned out... One that immediately comes to mind is...
Prince Dimande's death. Browsing the forums it seems other people liked the scene, but eh... I just found it a bit lacking and anti-climactic.
All things like that aside, though, I enjoyed the majority of what I saw.
I'm only two episodes into Classic but I'm really liking it thus far. It's weird not having the other Senshi around, but I actually like seeing Usagi with her school friends instead of the other girls for a change. Hopefully the season continues on as well as it's started!

Re: Watching any Sailor Moon lately?
I wanted to watch episode 1 of Sailor R. Sailor Moon's last line in the episode is so sad. It's like eating potato chips, I could'nt stop at just one.
Sometimes I sit and think, other times I just sit.
I continued where I left off last fall (episode 14 of the dub) a couple of weeks ago and then continued from there a ways until I finally got some good DVD burning software. Now I can watch the dub's on the TV instead of the computer. I am currently at episode 35, the ice-skating one. I am also reading the comparisions as I go.
In addition I have been d/ling and watching the subs, but my dvd software doesn't do .rm's, so I just watch them on the PC. I have been chewing through those though. I have already finished the Jadeite arc (I watched about 6 just today and plan to watch more, so I can get caught up to where I am at in the dub.
Interestingly enough, though, two of the three pre-Ami episodes cut had no intervention by Tux-boy. It's as if DIC tried to make it seem that Sailor Moon couldn't fight the negaverse alone.
I also have to say that the sub is like a completely different show from the dub. The feel of the episodes (dialogue-wise and musically) are much more adult. I still like the dub, but probably because it feels like a different show. In fact, it is almost like comparing the Harry Potter books and the movies considering that the dialogue/scenes are rewritten in places and a lot was cut and the fact that some of the way HP is presented in the film will be set up to appeal to a broader audience (not the same as with the dub I know, but still). Basically what I am trying to say is that I am not going to let the subs influence my watching of the dubs just like I am not letting the books influence my viewing experience with the movies.

Well, there was that one episode with the camera...smfan423 wrote:Interestingly enough, though, two of the three pre-Ami episodes cut had no intervention by Tux-boy. It's as if DIC tried to make it seem that Sailor Moon couldn't fight the negaverse alone.

If you're reading this, then you've lost the game.

KKDW's SM viewing progress.
Hello
Well I got into SM a month or so ago and I'm currently up to R (last watched episode 65).
I'm really enjoying the series so far (though R dosen't seem to have been quite as satisfying as the first season so far). As I'm male I really didn't expect that I'd like it, boy was I wrong there
, I really liked a lot of the emotion in some episodes and thus have reacted to it myself (this is I think the first time I've really emotionally connected with the events of a TV show, not counted episode 24 of Excel Saga).
Anyway as I go I'll post up my thoughts on the episodes. For me season 1 hit a very high vengemark (or whatever that word is) especially with the last two episodes) so I hope the show beats or at least matches it.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

well I've just finsihed watching episode 67. I quite enjoyed that one, though I was surprised to find I'd downloaded a fansub rather then a DVD rip (since I found out it wasn't included on the DVDs...that's a bit odd). Mind you for once I get to see what the trailers for next episode on the end of them are like and also found out that the preview of the episode goes before the title sequence rather then after it like on the DVD rips.
The next episode looks like a good one too!

KKDW, please do not double post. I recommend reading the rules before posting again.
Thanks.

I'm watching Sailor Moon SuperS in my spare time right now, which was the series I didn't see too much of when it was on TV. I know it was very different from the manga, but I don't mind that at all, because I think its fun to be able to see two different versions.
I really love the episodes with Fish-Eye as the main character; he's just too cute! Their final episode was really touching, and I miss seeing their antics, because I don't really like the Quartet as much.
If I remember correctly, I'm going to be starting the 5th disc, and then I'll finally be able to watch Stars without being confused! Wooo! Although... I don't want to see Usagi and Mamoru get married; I think that's one of the most unhappy endings ever.
