Make Up! Sailor Senshi is actually a short film that was shown in Japanese theatres before the Sailor Moon R movie premiered. Yesterday I just received Make Up! Sailor Senshi and watched it and it was awesome! Who has ever see this little film before? The clips shown in the film goes over the first 2 seasons (Sailor Moon Classic & SMR).
I've been looking all over the internet to own this episode. The film is on www.youtube.com and type in "Make Up! Sailor Senshi" and you'll find it up there. But I think it's a shame that this film and most of the SM SpecialS specials were never dubbed into America just going to show you how America treated Sailor Moon and dumbed it down to a kids show.

Yes, it's a shame that it wasn't shown dubbed on TV. But anyway...
On himura-kaoru.com, you can download it. On youtube, I don't think you can download stuff, just watch it. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
While basically being a clip show, I like Make Up! Sailor Senshi. I like how these two girls in the behind talk about the senshi and Usagi always assumes that they are talking about her. xD

Actually, there is a firefox extention you can install that allows you download videos, but you need an FLV player installed to watch the files. If you don't have/don't like firefox there is always the root site, VideoDownloader.net. It's a little more work intensive (which is why I use the add-on), but it's accomplishes the same thing.Kasumi wrote: On himura-kaoru.com, you can download it. I use it when I want to download AMVs I like. Sadly, with the RIAA forcing YouTube to remove AMVs and home made music videos, I'm never sure if I'll be able to see it again. I might as well get it when I can. ^^;
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

I liked the animation in the SuperS TV Specials--it wasn't too bad. Was the animator who animated the SuperS Specials the same one who did the SuperS series? Episode 89 was a bit different (a tiny bit) because it was sort of a clipshow and a preview of Sailor Moon S.
The man who did the animation direction for the Make Up! Sailor Senshi! and Sailor Moon Super S TV special is Taichi Nakamura. He's been the animation director for various episodes throughout the series. I personally hate his style, but maybe that's just me.SailorMoonFan wrote:I liked the animation in the SuperS TV Specials--it wasn't too bad. The Super S series, like most anime series had different animation directors in each episode. The key animator/character designer for Super S was Ikuko Itoh.
Taichi Nakamura was kind of crappy (couldn't do perspective or shading, and made Haruka look like a male seventies mecha pilot) but Masahiro Ando was probably worse (couldn't so hands, gave everyone round faces).
Amazoness! Because men seldom make passes at girls who routinely kill men.
It's funny, although Masahiro Ando's art was beyond terrible it didn't bother me as much as Nakamura's style. They both suck, but I just can't stand Ando's at all.the dooky wrote:Taichi Nakamura was kind of crappy (couldn't do perspective or shading, and made Haruka look like a male seventies mecha pilot) but Masahiro Ando was probably worse (couldn't so hands, gave everyone round faces).
