Okay, so I read a post in the "What did the dubbed SM make you believe?" or whatever it's called... And the post was about how Usagi wished for everyone to have normal lives, and how the Silver Crystal erased events of the past year, and brought the Senshi back to have normal lives.
Well, it made me think (for once)... Why weren't the Generals resurrected to have normal lives? I mean, they PROBABLY could have tried to live normally. I know Nephlyte could have, definitely, because he eventually found love. But, were they not resurrected because they were already killed, or...what?
I personally think it would have been interesting, to have the Generals walk around as normal, run of the mill civilians. Usagi, or one of the other Senshi, could walk past them, and they could spontaneously have a flashback from past events.
Well, I'm hoping this thread makes sense. Do discuss! ^.^
A question?

I think the Shittenou weren't brought back to life because Usagi didn't wish for it. She only wished that she and her friends could back to living normal lives but she didn't wish for the Shittenou to be brought back to life.

I don't know really. I'm guessing that Usagi only wished for the GOOD people and to her the general were not good( in the anime. The manga a whole different story). I wondered that for a while and just pushed it off as another plot hole.
Spoiler:
In the manga, the Generals were Mamoru's 'senshi' during the Silver Millinium and were put under Beryl's control. They were later in the present killed by the senshi and Beryl. They were later turned into jewel stones and come out to talk and advise Mamoru. Basically after Classic, they play a small role in the story later on. Whether or not the senshi knew about them coming back isn't shown( its been a while since I've seen the manga. I may be wrong.
Not to mention that the generals were long-dead, and not recently dead as the senshi were. (Perhaps the senshi were only *mostly* dead) Considering it by storyline, the deaths of the senshi and The Wish were essentially part of the same event, if you will. The same episode. But the death of Kunzite came before, and the other three died at the will of Queen Beryl, and it's not really cricket to reverse actions that you had no part of.

The Croonerism Spate (explanations upon request)
Be careful with this one, there is a bit of a pun involved. Dr. Spooner described his visit to a castle: "In the center of the fortress was the Palace Court. The gated entrance to this area was the court palace."

I don't think that the events of the past year were erased per se. That would cause way too many plot holes. The senshi's memories were probably just wiped to forget all their battles, and knowing each other.
As for the Shitennou, while they were just brainwashed in the manga, in the anime they seemed to just be evil servants of the Dark Kingdom.
Remember what Kunzite said when he was defeated, "I am one of the Shitennou of the Dark Kingdom! I WILL NEVER YELL REFRESH!" Or something like that. I guess that means his soul was beyond saving.
The same thing probably applied to Zoisite, he was a treacherous homicidal maniac.
Jadeite was never really killed just kind of put into a type of stasis.
I like to think that Nephrite was resurrected (maybe he was). I would love to see him make a return. Maybe it would make a good movie or at least a special.
However I think that the "wish" only concerned Usagi and the other Senshi. So everyone else kinda got screwed. If you want the Shitennou to return play Another Story. They do make a return and even try to be helpful.

But they all repeat the 8th grade, except it's the year 1993 when their spring term of 8th grade begins this time.Gamer8585 wrote:I don't think that the events of the past year were erased per se. In episode 46 Artemis says everyone was transmigrated, which means reincarnation, but really either the whole world changed somehow as a result of Usagi's wish or they moved to some alternate dimension, which wouldn't make much sense because the cats still remembered everything.
This is nothing but a continuity thing. The girls are 15 in two seasons as well. They certainly didn't go back a year after S, so they didn't in the first season either. If they had, Usagi wouldn't still have her prism broach!Jeff wrote:

I also agree with this theory. When Kunzite died, he said that he wanted to be sent to the world where Zoicite's soul was, clearly showing that Zoicite had already passed onto the afterlife. But when Sailor Moon had her final showdown with Beryl, the Soldiers' spirits returned to help her in the fight, so their spirits still could've been lingering in a realm between the land of the living and the land of the dead. Also, with the expection of Jeadite, the Shittenou's bodies had already vanished from the world but the Soldiers' bodies still existed. Nephrite's body disappeared into those shining lights, Zoicite's body vanished with the blossoms, and Kunzite's body vanished after being killed by Sailor Moon. Perhaps the Shittenou also couldn't be brought back to life because their spirits had no bodies on Earth to return to. And Jaedite couldn't be brought back because he techincally wasn't "killed"; he was sentenced to Eternal Sleep by Beryl which could be something completly different from death. Something similar happened in an episode of Yu Yu Hakusho where Yusuke had to keep his body from being burned or he couldn't be brought back to life without it. I know it's a different anime, but the way it was brought up in Yu Yu Hakusho, it seemed like something that's a Japanese culture thing rather than something limited to Yu Yu Hakusho, but I don't know much about Japanese religion and culture, so I could be off here.Sailorasteroid wrote:Not to mention that the generals were long-dead, and not recently dead as the senshi were.
