SM manga
Since I'm a noob to the messege board here I think this question will be alright. I was wondering where I could still find english issues of the SM manga. I looked on Amazon and they want like... $40 for the first issue...! *speeds off in volkswagon*

Yeah. I enjoyed the English manga very much, and owned the whole thing. Yes many names and stuff were screwed up. But it's better than not reading it at all because you can't read Japanese.Tiff wrote:...Becuase a lot of people, like myself, cannot read Japanese?#1SailorMoonFan wrote:There is always Ebay. Um...actually, no. Last year at a convention, I found the SuperS Mangas I needed for really cheap and in excellent condition.Panda wrote:It's out of print, for one, and from what I've heard it's crap.
Try scanlations!
If all else fails, I'm sure having the Japanese one would be more valuable. Chances are any that you find right now in English would be in horrible condition and at a horrible price.
I adore the manga. The name changes were all I had to get by, but the rest of it was very accurate and great to read.

I didn't say it was impossible. It's just improbable that most of us could find them like that. I, for instince, have never been to an ainme con in my life.
Besides, if you can get them for free than get them for free. I believe (and this is my opinion, don't make a big deal out of it) that if you buy something just because than you just want to collect it. Good for you but why not get the original if that's the case?

Becuase I don't want to bother with glancing at a translation while trying to read the book at the same time? I have no real problem with the english manga, that's why. I like it. Do I need more of a reason than that?Panda wrote:

*shrugs* nobody's flipping out. You asked what my reasons were, and I gave them. You interpret bluntness as "flipping out". I don't sugar coat things. If you can't handle blunt answers, then don't ask. Simple as that.Panda wrote:Calm down...
It's just my opinion Tiff, no reason to flip out.

It's pretty much the same as the dub translation, only Usagi's name was turned to "Bunny" instead of "Serena", which is a direct translation of "Usagi".Sailormars Obsessed fan wrote:ummmm I was just wondering what names where different?

I really wished they didn't shorten it to Buns though. I snicker every time I read that.Tiff wrote:It's pretty much the same as the dub translation, only Usagi's name was turned to "Bunny" instead of "Serena", which is a direct translation of "Usagi".Sailormars Obsessed fan wrote:ummmm I was just wondering what names where different?
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

ya but how long ago was that? Nowadays you cant really find them anywhere in the US unless you get very lucky that they still have some left over.Hero of the Day wrote:I got all the Sailor Moon manga I own from Barnes & Nobles bookstore for about $10 per manga.
I have the first part of the magnas of SM and wanted to complete my collection but ofcourse, to late.
I think maybe looking on Amazon for some used ones would probably be the best way of getting some.
