I think that Kristen from Laguna Beach would make a good Sailor Moon.

I love the Chronicles of Narnia, being a Tolkien fan you eventually read Lewis stuff.
Hilary had a way of being tempting and semingly good, but then in the Stone Table scene just malicious.

Kristen Kreuk as Sailor Pluto than? Looking back agree that Sailor Mars is not a good fit for the actor.

Orlando Bloom as Tuxedo Mask?

I can see Kristen Kreuk as Sailor Pluto, or maybe Sailor Neptune as well.

As far as Tuxedo Mask, I could name several actors who I think might do the character justice. Orlando Bloom would be one of them.

Lohan couldn't play Usagi. If it has to be someone of that acting league I'd probably vouch for Hilary Duff but her personality is a little more like Ami's when you think about it. Plus... her voice wouldn't compliment anything. (I love Hilary but I don't think her or Lohan can play such a character. I think Lohan would make a good Mars and Duff-Mercury)

If the movie included characters such as the Outers and Chibi-Usa I would like to see her played by either Dakota Fanning or Alyson Stoner (Sally from the Disney Channel).

I think teen/young adult actors like Ashley Tisdale, Brenda Song (Yes, I watch the Disney Channel...), Kirsten Dunst (Thinking Minako but may also be a good Makoto), etc, would be good choices.
I posted this in another thread and most of it remains but I'd like to add since this is an actual topic about casting ideas.

I'd like Emma Watson to do either Sailor Jupiter, Mercury or Sailor Neptune if her nose wasn't so big and she wasn't Englsih :( (Now that I think about it, she's better as Mercury.)

Jamie Lynn Spears would be a good looker for Minako/Usagi but I don't know much about her acting skills. (Plus her voice is irritating. If memory serves me than I remember a southern drawl.)

I think Alexa Vega could play a wonderful Mars. I've really only seen her in SpyKids but she's a big enough bitch in that movie to work it in SM:TM.

Amanda Bynes could play someone Like Minako very well I think. Her personality reminds me alot of Venus.

I really favor these type of young adult actresses for th roles. I think someone should either the exact age or just a little older when they play a character so they have a basis for inspiration. (ALso, I really liked my Alexa Vega one... That's a good one...)

Sailor Mercury- Girl who plays Cho Chang in Harry Potter Movies
Sailor Mars- whoever is Lana Lang in Smallville
Hilary Swanton? Is that some sort of clone made from the DNA of Hilary Swank and Tilda Swinton?

And no, I cannot see Kristin Kreuk as Mars.

And need I remind Tiffu that if the Americans get their grubby little hands on the franchise, the first thing they'd do would be raise the ages of the characters?

I do, however, agree with the suggestion of Daveigh Chase for Sailor Saturn.

Oh, and I think Devon Aoki would make a good baddie. Catch her in Sin City and you'll see what I mean.

Not necessarily. It depends on what age group they want to focus on. Since Sailor Moon is considered a "kids show" aimed toward young audiences they may not cast older people too far out of the age-range. They may make the soldiers a few years older, but they won't try to force up the age to twenty.

Secondly, these are ficticious terms. Since Sailor Moon has no North American licenses and the popularity of the series is at a decline, its likely never to be made into a movie. That's why it's best to look at this question as pure entertainment while maintaing reasonable cast choices. There will probably never be a live action SM movie but that doesn't mean we have to throw out certain elements of the show, like age, simply because it'll never make it to the big screen.

Finally, there was really no reason to single Tiff out when even I stated that it would be best to fill the roles with people that fit the age requirement.
And really, why shouldn't we be afraid? In case you haven't heard, life is terminal. Cigarettes will kill you. So will your cellphone. Your car is a deadly weapon and alcohol is a quiet killer. Don't lick the lead-based paint on the walls. Don't lick the back of a postage stamp and certainly don't lick any strangers! That will bring you down quickly indeed. Don't drink the water but don't drink less than eight glasses a day. Your enviroment is toxic, your natural resources are dwindling, your days are numbered, but what ever you do, don't panic! The stress, don't you know, will kill you.

Thank you. Jesus.

When the Babysitter's Club was made into a movie, the characters remained 13. Granted, the actresses looked about 15, but the CHARACTERS stated their age was 13. The ages of the characters were not raised.

When Harry Potter was made into a movie, the ages stayed the same. Again, the actors look about 2 years older, but the characters' ages still remained the same.

I'm not saying it'd be a problem to have an actress that's a COUPLE years older. But a THIRTY year old playing a 13-14 year old? No. That just wouldn't happen.

Yeah unfortunatly your right.

Back when the movie "clueless" came out she would have been perfect for sailor Venus but now she is probably too old

I think that's pretty difficult 'cause their faces should look the same in both male and female form.

Why does the hypothetical live action movie have to follow the anime? Their is the manga way where they are always female.
Everybody was a baby once, Arthur. Oh, sure, maybe not today, or even yesterday. But once. Babies, chum: tiny, dimpled, fleshy mirrors of our us-ness, that we parents hurl into the future, like leathery footballs of hope. And you''ve got to get a good spiral on that baby, or evil will make an interception.

How about Emma Watson as Naru? She would look cute with a bow. :)

She's 30, and I don't see her as a convincing Beryl. So, no.

I agree!!! She has the hair... plus she can pull it off with the bow, the accent will probably have to be fixed though

I can't think of NO ONE playing Sailor Moon, I don't know, I can't picture anyone being her...

I was thinking Kate Bosworth can play someone, but im not sure who... but than the age thing plays a part here too...but she's only 23.

What about Alison Machov (Girl who plays Keili from Phil of the future, I know I butchered her first name.) She could probably pull off Sailor Moon, or what about her sister?

If the movie was made in hollywood they would probably definently use the English names so there would most likely be a multiracial cast.
What about Brenda Song playing Sailor Venus?

Sailor Moon could be played by a Japanese actress to give homage to the original source and the "token" Asian character could be avoided.

Ashley Tisdale could possibly play Sailor Mars or Mercury if she could pull off the quiet character.
