Chibi-Usa's Chronology. Anime/Manga
I need to know exactly what the difference is between Manga Chibi-Usa and Anime Chibi-usa as far as their ages go.
My sources inform me that when we first meet Chibi-Usa in the anime she is seven yeards old and when the series ends she is nine.
The manga has Chibi-Usa at 900 years old... This is where I'm confused.
Is Chibi-Usa 900-something years old in both the anime and the manga? And if not, how old is anime Chibi-Usa?

So far as I've known and at least thought about the anime, no, she's a regular age. This is because the anime has the deep freeze in it, while the manga doesn't. So for the Senshi and everyone to still be alive in the 30th century, thus, there came the idea of super-longetivity. In the anime, however, technically only the people who were frozen have lived extra long, and even then I don't think it would really count since they weren't really "living." I would assume they would resume their normal aging after Neo-Queen Serenity released them. Thus, the question of how old Chibi-Usa is depends on whether or not she was born before or after the Deep Freeze.
I could be wrong, though, but that's how I've always liked to think about Crystal Tokyo in the anime.

Actually, when we first meet Chibiusa, she's closer to five. You know this becuase during a flashback of her birthday party, there are five candles on the cake.
And from what I've read...Chibiusa is 900 years old due to an aging problem becuase of her mixed blood. Children of the moon are immortal, and Chibiusa is a mixture of moon child and earth child (Serenity and Endymion). So it is unsure of whether or not she'll continue to age, or if she's stopped.
And I believe in the Anime, it is stated by King Endymion to the senshi that "Small Lady stopped aging one day", which is why they call her Small Lady. So wouldn't that also make her that old in the anime, too? I could have sworn in the anime, she was also 900 years old.

Joey: The question is, Rachel, does he like you? ''Cuz if he doesn''t, then it''s all just a moo point.
Rachel: Huh...a...moo point?
Joey: Yeah. It''''s like a cow''s opinion. It doesn''t matter....It''s moo.

I've heard that her exact age was not stated in the anime, but that "5 years old" was inferred from her birthday cake candles. I know that quote you mentioned, Tiff, is from the manga, but I'm fairly sure it's not from the anime. If it is, I don't remember.
Unless, of course, each of those five candles represents 180 years, but that would needlessly complicate things. Although it could end up being a weird plot point in some fanfic where the people of Crystal Tokyo are obsessed with half-circles. (j/k)

I've watched the R season (It's the only part I can remember seeing King Enymion speaking with anyone) and he doesn't say that anywhere. That was very helpful though.
I need this information for a fanfic I'm writing... I can use either but since I haven't read the manga it's based entirely off the anime and it'd be easier if she was regular-aged.
Also, I've heard that she is 7 when R starts, 8 during S and SuperS and 9 during the beginning of Stars. Also, I vaguley remember her being in the 3rd grade during S or SuperS. Not to mention, she is stated to be short for her age.
EDIT: Also, was the flashback you mentioned in the anime or the manga (the one with 5 candles). I know there is a flashback in the anime but I wasn't sure what was being refered to.

The flashback is in the anime definitely, but I'm not sure about the manga.Panda wrote:EDIT: Also, was the flashback you mentioned in the anime or the manga (the one with 5 candles). I know there is a flashback in the anime but I wasn't sure what was being refered to.

In the above pictures Sailor Moon is using the Ginzuishou to try and help Black Lady remember her good memories. Chibiusa thinks that no-one will be able to celebrate her birthday with her.

I have the R season DVDs, and I could have SWORN I remember it being said while they're in the future, and King Endymion is talking about Small Lady. I even remember how he sounds in the dub when he says it. "She simply...stopped aging."Panda wrote:I've watched the R season (It's the only part I can remember seeing King Enymion speaking with anyone) and he doesn't say that anywhere. I've gotta put my DVD in later and look it up. If I'm wrong, then so be it, but I remember it so clearly, and when I asked the boyfriend, he remembered it, too. XD

I just recently got throught watching the entire subtitled series of sailormoon and I dont remember hearing anything about chibi-usa having stopped ageing. Now its possibly I simply didnt catch it but I also have no memory of this line from previous watchings of it. So Im assuming this didnt happen.
Feel free to prove me wrong though as I have the entire series and you can simply point me to the episode

Yup, I just quickly checked the subs of the episodes of R in-which King Endymion appears, and the scripts of the dubbed episodes and I couldn't find any mention of that. Maybe it's just in the manga?Sailormars Obsessed fan wrote:I just recently got throught watching the entire subtitled series of sailormoon and I dont remember hearing anything about chibi-usa having stopped ageing. Nope. I think the added stress of teaching all year combined with the ridiculous Texas heat has finally driven me insane.RattleMan wrote:

TIFFU HAS OFFICIALLY GONE CRAZY. X___x And she is now imagining scenes in the SMR anime episodes.

Nope, it's in the manga. From my manga translations, Act 19:
"
"Why aren't you growing old?" Minako asks the king. "How are you keeping your bodies from changing?"
"The lifespan of people in the Silver Millennium is about one thousand years. After adulthood is reached, the aging process is stopped. When Selenity was 22, she ascended to the throne and gave birth to the first princess. After that, she maintained the same figure. It's all because of the power of the Mystical Silver Crystal. I have also become a member of the Silver Millennium, and so have the same longevity. Crystal Tokyo, like the Silver Millennium, entered the age of long life when we ascended to the throne in the 21st century. Now most of the people on Earth enjoy long lives from the power of the crystal. We lived on Earth in peace. That is, for a time. Now Crystal Tokyo is in ruin. Only the Mystical Silver Crystal can save the world. But Neo-Queen Selenity is the only one who can use it, and she won't wake up. So there's nothing we can do..."
"
But does that really explain Chibiusa? She doesn't look like an adult, and the translation says the aging process is stopped once she would reach adulthood...

Poor Chibi-Usa-chan (Manga version). Shes got a lifespan of around 1000 years, and she's lived over 900 years as a child. Thats just gotta suck
Favorite Senshi: Saturn and Jupiter
If I had a Henshin phrase it would be: Dragon Master Power! Armor Up!
A shrine without girls is like Miso Soup without the Miso - Grandpa Hino
The human body can be drained of blood in 8 seconds given adequate vaccuuming systems - River - Firefly

It's worth noting that - at least in the case of Neo Queen Serenity, Endymion and the Inners - the extended lifespan thing may come into the anime as well. At the very least, their ageing process seems to be slowed down markedly in the thirtieth century. We're told that the Black Moon's ancestors fled to Nemesis some time after Serenity awakened. We definitely know that Dimande and Saphir were born after this happened (presumably some decades afterwards, as Nemesis had apparently been colonised to some extent). And yet Serenity and the Senshi don't seem to have aged more than 10-15 years. Admittedly the extent of this effect depends to some degree on how long ago you think Nemesis was colonised... I got the impression that several generations had lived there by the time Dimande attacked Crystal Tokyo.
Amazoness! Because men seldom make passes at girls who routinely kill men.
